OK, I'm not really getting rid of my two, but it was very tempting this morning.
Cajsa is too smart for her own good and poor little Gretch got the short stick when it came to brains - but she's a sweetie! Cajsa woke me up at 4am this morning crying because she needed to go downstairs to pee and was stuck halfway down. (She knows not to go down the stairs, but if she starts she generally goes all the way so I'm not really sure why she stopped in the middle.) Anyway, I get her and carry her to the kitchen grumbling because I was finally in a very sound sleep that this pregnant lady REALLY needed. I put her in the kitchen and went back upstairs since she had a bed and blankets to get back into and wasn't hurrying back to me to go upstairs. I get upstairs and climb into bed only to hear her start whining. She'd finally decided she wanted to come back to bed and I wasn't waiting on her - How dare I do that?!? I put a pillow over my head and ignore her (I know bad momma but I was really tired.) A few minutes later I hear her bark at Gretch because she wants the bed Gretchen is in rather than the empty one. Gretchen barks back once and then they hush. (I think "Great they've settled it and I can get some sleep!") Well, just as I was dozing off I heard plastic crinkling/crunching like a water bottle or something. Of course I get back up and go downstairs to check it out and see what in the world they've found. It's 5 am at this point and I am staggering I'm so tired. I get to the kitchen to find Gretchen in the middle of the garbage that had been strung out all over the kitchen. I was speechless for about 2 seconds before I could do anything. I was very mad because the bag had been shut up in the cabinet under the sink with the cabinet door shut. This has always been enough to keep them out of it. I also noticed Cajsa was not in the garbage but curled up in Gretchen's bed sound asleep. She is also the only one of the two able to open the cabinet doors (if there is a slight crack) so I know she opened it and pulled the bag out. She baited Gretchen so she could get the bed she wanted and poor little Gretchen fell for it hook line and sinker. After I cleaned it up and got back to bed it was nearly 6 am and I was awake. I am very tired and would have thought about moving the two hounds out this morning as I was cleaning things up. Now I've accepted it, but I really hope they act nice tonight!
dis is Parker: Gretha and casja can come lives wif me. I has nobody  to pway wif, and there is too much snow at the puppy parks so I can't go there until the snow is gone. I has fwnds at the puppy park.
Oh No April! I don't blame you for being upset. Maybe its time to install those child safety latches on the cupboards early? I had to install those on all the cupboards and drawers in the house, because a certain little doxie knows how to open them. I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.
Don't you just hate it when you know WHO is the culprit but they now have removed themselves and left the other :idiot: to take the blame.
Hope you get some sleep to-night.

It amazes me how their minds work. I have had nights with Schatzi and Molly where they are determined to be mischievous in the middle of the night and keep me awake, but that story beats anything they have done. I hope they were better last night.
How much longer do you have? Do you know if Elf is having a brother or a sister? I was trying to remember if you had posted on the board what you were having or if you were going to find out.
LOL!!! :2funny:
Sorry April, but I had to giggle....smarty pants girls !!! Hope you got some rest !
I did get some rest the next night. It really is funny. I can laugh pretty easily about it now and I was even starting to that same evening, but MAN was I tired! I'll be 17 weeks along tomorrow, so I'm almost halfway and not quite so sleepy all the time, but sleep is still pretty important to me or I get grumpy with the girls. (David has it easy in that he's back at work and isn't around me all the time!) The hounds just proved what we've always said about them. Cajsa is the brains and Gretch is the brawn. I did feel sorry for her because I KNEW she wasn't responsible, but she was the only one in the middle of it when I walked in.
I actually have some of those safety latches from when Elf was younger, but we never had to use them with her. She never got into the cabinets. The next one might need them so it wouldn't be such a bad thing to put them up before s/he gets here. It would keep the hounds out of trouble anyway...
