Hey all, just checking in......in between snow storms......we're all getting cabin fever......I've started working on quilts while the boys sleep.....it's not fun going outside....under the snow which has been either plowed or thrown, is a sheet of ice........the region has broken all sorts of records for snowfall.....and we are due another storm this afternoon which is suppose to "dump" 6-9 more inches of snow on top of what we already have.......Ugh! Stay warm.....we're trying to stay warm and dry and are gearing up for the next storm which is suppose to start today and continue through Tuesday or Wednesday.........
OH my gosh I can't believe how much of the white stuff you have. Look at those icycles! They aren't icycles they are stalagmites. The boys are so cute snuggling up like that you guys have a really nice cleared area for them outside. I'll bet you are all as sick of it as you can be though you really got hammered this year. We have a tiny bit left but nothing to cry over and it is cold but at least dry today, Hallie and I got our first decent walk in weeks this morning. Hang in there spring HAS to be ahead...somewhere!!

I finally worked out the cabin fever this weekend. I took the dogs to the dog park Thur/Fri/Sat and ran them for hours. They needed it badly and the quiet desperation has gone out of their attitude. I feel for you-that is an awful lot of snow. Poor boys.
That is crazy!!! I love the first pictures of the boys...so sweet. We have had a lot of rain here in San Diego and some cooler temps in the 50s and 60s during the days... Lots of snow in the mountains during Christmas!
I can't believe how much you have and how much more you are getting. I promise you, if you could send it our way, we would take some of it. Not all of it mind you, that would cripple our city for a month. Twelve inches closed us down for almost a week once and you don't even want to know what ice can do to a city in the south!
Stay warm and maybe, just maybe a heat wave will hit soon.
Hey Penny! Send the rain up North, will ya? We're pretty dry and warm here. I'd like it to start acting like winter around here. It was in the high 60's today.
We'd be happy to send snow if we could do it! The County/City has declared a state of emergency in order to get extra dollars to contract out for more plows to do the roads. The Highway/County Department of Roads folks are working 24/7 in order to even attempt to keep up on clearing the roads. The problem is that they have run out of room to put the snow that is plowed. There have been over 30 roof collapses (business that includes grocery stores, and apartments, carports, etc) in five days from the heavy amount of snow and many more businesses have closed until their roofs can be inspected. We hired someone two days before Christmas to shovel our house roof off.....there was close to 30-35 inches of snow on it from the first major storms that hit. Tonight the County Sheriff has made a declaration as a pre-emptive safety measure, that the schools/school districts including colleges/universities in Spokane County will remain closed. The storm for tonight is suppose to hit us around 10 pm and we are suppose to get another 8 inches of snow by 10 am tomorrow morning. I keep the faith that spring will come one day......but not for another 3 months at least!
The poor boys!!! I know you are all going crazy. We could use some snow here instead of the "icy mix" and "sleet" we have been getting. I just can't imagine getting all that snow and more on the way :doah: :verdict: Oh my goodness!! The people making all the money are the ones who are shoveling the snow off everyone's roofs. I know Ruth stated she paid someone $80 to remove the snow from her roof....They must be making a FORTUNE!!!! Just stay safe and warm....at this rate, Dee, you are going to have lots of blankies made for the boys come Spring :grin:
Goodness, Dee, I cannot believe the amount of snow you are getting. Some of the roof collapses have made our local news. I would like to have a little snow, but certainly not like what you have. I love the picture of the boys sleeping together. They look so warm and comfortable. And the pic, of those icicles really shows how cold it is up there.

Yikes! How nice of you to make a path for the boys. We are having wind and cold temps, so our boys don't go out, they use the puppy pad. Occassionally we make a beeline for Dan's shop to go "visit papa" and take a quick whiz. That is about all the cold they can handle.
