Title: Find the Hidden Dachshund
Post by: David C. on December 30, 2008, 07:29:52 PM
Well, she's not that hidden...Zora begs for food from Jessica.  Jessica seems rather nonplussed over the grape tomato she is holding.

..and just because we believe in equal time, here's a shot of Zeke

These piccys from my new playtoy, a Nikon D-90.  It was purchased for me as a gift for my 20th anniversary in the band that I have played in since 1988.   More piccys to come!  (and maybe some video, too).

Let's be fair and show a picture a bit more flattering of Zora.

I took this with my old camera.   It's funny, Zora was much easier to photograph with the older camera, and I couldn't get a decent shot of Zeke.  With the new camera, it's the opposite.  I'm getting great shots of Zeke, but no real "glamour" shots of Zora yet.

They are sooo beautiful! Was Zora sitting up there? LOL she was sure at attention! Zeke is so handsome. Zora really almost looks like a red dobie in the bottom pic!

Good eye, DD.  Zora was sitting up.   She will do that every time, and Zora will stay in that position for what seems like an incredibly long time.   No other dachshie that we've owned (or Rusty for that matter) was able to match that feat.   Zora uses her tail to form a "tripod" base.

I love the pictures! Zora reminds me of Schatzi. She will actually get on my lap and somehow manage to situp and beg while on there if she really wants something. I hope to get a picture of her doing it while Meg is home. Her balance, and determination to get a treat, is amazing.
I've been looking at digital SLRs forever and have decided on the Nikon D60. I was leaning toward the Canon xsi, but finally decided on the Nikon. It is a little smaller and more user friendly. Someone I know recently got one, after reading the reviews I sent to her, and absolutely loves it. Randy and I decided to get each other "after Christmas gifts" in a month or so, so this should be mine (unless something major happens before that).
Did Jessica have a good Christmas? She is looking so much older now and is such a beautiful young lady.

Porky holds that position for really long too.  Great pictures of all the kids.  Jessica sure is growing up fast.

Roberta: Zora did not get the tomato, this time.  However, if Jessica had her arm draped to the side, she is not above trying to take it from her hand.

Teresa:  the D60 is an awesome camera.  You'll get some great pics with it

Yes, Jessica is now 5 years old and very tall (over 44 inches last time we measured).  She has recently "discovered" Zeke, and her behavior around him is downright hilarious.  Jessica will go nose-to-nose with him and start laughing.  Or, she will touch Zeke and start laughing.  Or, with both of them she holds her hand in front of their snouts until they give her a slurp.  Two nights ago, she was on all fours trying to chase Zeke around.  I'm not sure why she is focused on Zeke.   Zeke, for the most part, takes it all in stride.  He seems to have matured a bit over the last year.
