Sarge and Duggie have grown tired of all the snow and cold! They cannot patrol their yard.....snow is too deep although we have made a path using the snow thrower around the perimeter of the yard.....but it's too cold for them to go completely around. They cannot see on the other side of the fence because the snow banks are covering the fence.........and given their heighth, they cannot see over the top! So, they are tired of all this snow that just seems to keep coming and coming and coming. Kinda like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going and going.... Yesterday, it started to snow at 7:00 am and quit at about 1:00 pm and dumped 10 inches of new snow on the ground during that time frame! The forecast was for 3 inches......someone's math was wrong! We have a reprieve this morning but another storm is moving in this afternoon.
The record snowfall set in 1950 for the month of December has been broken! In December, 1950, 56 inches of snow fell in that one month. As of last night, a new record has been set for the month of December.......just in December, we have received 63 inches of snow.......and more is coming.......Ugh!
There is so much snow and no place to put it.......roofs of buildings are collapsing because they cannot get them all cleared off fast enough.......needless to say, we are really praying hard for sunshine but then that will melt the snow and there will be water everywhere......Sarge & Duggie, we better get you swimming fins!
Happy New Year, Everyone........and Stay warm and dry!
63 inches of snow and more on the way???? OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! ENOUGH IS CERTAINLY ENOUGH!!!
That's....insane!!! I can't believe we're in the same state and you're getting that much snow. Your poor boys. Thank goodness you're both good dachsie parents or they'd be lost in the snow banks.
Sheesh!! I'd say you have definately gotten enough snow. We still haven't seen more than an inch or two (at most!) this year. It really is strange. All we are getting is wind, wind, and have I mentioned WIND....from all the storm systems.
OMG, Dee, I just couldn't cope with that much snow. I have been watching the weather channel and cannot believe the amount of snow the Northwest is receiving.
Stay safe and warm in your home. Smoochies to the boys.

Not Simon.He LOVES it!!!
More tomorrow.Yay for Simon!
Holy cow, that is a lot of snow! D.C., on average, gets about 35 inches per year! As of late, we get a lot more "wintry mix" and a lot less snow. So far, not even one inch of snow. We got a dusting a few weeks back.
Our puppers can't stand the snow, or any kind of moisture as they will melt.
Well, i should say! That's a whole lot of BRRRRRRRR!
Oh Dee now on the news they said it's up to 65 inches? That is insane you guys have to be going nuts. Ours is almost GONE. The roads are fine now, just lots of rain and supposed to get the big winds the next 2 days (is that in your forecast too? I hope not!). But there is hardly any snow in my yard, etc now it is so wierd and wonderful to see grass and pavement again. And to be able to drive around! I hope that happens for you soon too I know how stir crazy you and Dave have to be.
Global Warming maybe you need to send to where the Ice Caps are melting I'm sure the Polar Bears would love that much snow.Too bad we cannot give it some direction on where it need to go,maybe in the future? Try and stay warm.

Yup.....65 inches and the prediction is for more snow over the next five days. We got a light dusting during the night and today the wind is blowing hard. I would love to see grass again as would Sarge and Duggie! We did go out yesterday to do some grocery shopping...the roads were plowed but under the fresh snow, is ice so not exactly 100% pleasant but we got out for a bit. The dogs are getting antsy that they can't patrol their entire yard......they smell rabbit! The rabbits have been hopping along on top of the snow......I have no idea where they are hiding.....I know there is no way that they can get under our decks....too much snow blocking the bottom. Everywhere you look all you see is snow banks and berms.........I did do the clearing of the driveway (ours and the neighbors yesterday) from the snow of the day before.
How do rabbits even survive in this stuff!
I can't believe you are getting more. I watch the weather and they tell us Portland and Seattle and then Spokane, I always cringe when they get to Spokane, there are snowflakes pretty much every day for you guys!
