This morning took her out to pee and pooh--which she did with no problem--but that little activity was too much. I said: "Well, you're gonna get yer medicine today." Gave medicine and within 15 minutes she was in the classic hunch position and shivering. Obvious pain response. Took her straight into the vet. He kept her the day and X-rayed her. Definite for degenerated disc.
Well, no kidding, doxie's spines are pretty much only Pixie-Stixs, doc. Discussed possible treatment options including--and HE brought this up--acupuncture.
Crate rest, anti-Styx's, and anti-spastics. She was quite happy to get into her crate this evening when we brought her home.
