No pics yet. I took some at the shelter and a couple at home with Sam and Sophie, but after an 8 hour round trip through -10 windchill weather I didn't take time to get them ready to upload. We're going to let Sam keep his name. We are totally in love with him. He is fitting right in - Sophie has given him some lessons on leaving her food dish alone otherwise they are getting along great. (although Sophie has let us know in subtle ways that we need to keep giving her her full dosage of attention). Right now he's asleep between my legs on the extension of my recliner as I type this on my laptop. He's learning the dog door, but we are going to have to be patient with some housetraining issues since it is nearing arctic temperatures outdoors.
Does anyone know what the premium food is that contains no grain but has venison and bison meat in it? That's what he was fed at the shelter and we didn't catch the name.
He's got a couple of pounds to lose but I think Sophie will run some of that off him.
Unlike Sophie and Stormy, he is really into squeaky toys. He has already disemboweled his first Bobo.
Might be Taste of the Wild or you might check on www.dogfoodanalysis.com might find it there good luck with your new Fur Kid.
How exciting!!! I checked right before I headed to bed last night to see if you had posted anything. I'm sure he is glad to be home and in a place he can settle in. Sophie is going to love having someone to show the ropes to.
Check into the Natural Balance foods. They have a huge variety, and several are grain free.
I can't wait to see the pictures, and Schatzi will tell you that she understands completely about not going outside in arctic temps!! That is one time she will walk out the doggie door and turn around and come right back in, often without doing anything!
Oh I am so glad Sam is home with you guys. Sounds like he is doing pretty darned good, and I'm sure Sam and Sophie will be the best of buds in no time. Can't wait for pictures! :apls:
Congratulations on your new arrival!! I recently switched Clifford to Fromm from Solid Gold. Their website states they are grain free. Here are some reviews.

What a handsome boy! I am also partial to his name, because I really did have an Uncle Sam who lived here in town.
Note to Sam: A) Listen to Sister Sophie about her food dish,
B) The kitchen is a spectacular place to hang out
C) Those trips outside? You might get more treats if you do your business out there!
Welcome to WW, Sam! You have a gorgeous coat.
Welcome home sweet Sam! I hope you and your new sissy are getting along. Is Sophie showing you the ropes? You're gonna love your new home. You've landed in the butter, boy. Pure butter! Can't wait to hear Sophie and Sam stories.

I was very sad to hear of your loss, but Congratulations on Mr Handsome Sam
I am so happy you have him home! He and Sophie look so good together. I love her coat, she has little clydesdale feather legs! I can't get over how much Sam reminds me of Hallie in the face. I am so glad you have thim and that I got to see him, my computer fried over a week ago and I just got it back today and have had it about 3 hours now and it is frying again...so I have a feeling I will be computerless for a while yet but I ran in here to see what had happened with Sam and was very glad to see pictures and get an update. I have been thinking of you and Deb and Sophie a lot.
:hello2: :hello2: :hello2: Sam!!!
