Title: (sigh) More Rays if you can spare them
Post by: Madderoos Mom on December 04, 2008, 08:52:58 AM
It's Maddie, this time.  She has thrown up about 3 times since last night and is just quivering all over.  Her first & second urp had whole green beans in it.  Could it be she can't digest whole beans?  Wonder if I should skip the green beans or would pureeing them do better for a doggy's system?

Anyway, this mommy is dead on her feet because the Roo couldn't settle down last night.  I made plain white rice for her this AM and she wouldn't touch it.  She's been drinking a lot of water.  She really looks so sad and pathetic.

UPDATE on Bonnie.  That little stinker will look for any opportunity to work on her owie on her back.  Dumb mommy took off the cone so she could eat and forgot to put it back on.  Bonnie Lou really did a nice number on herself and now we're just about back to square one.  Vet suggested fish oil over their food.  Anyone know where I can get some?  The Vet didn't have any at the time, but will have some in their 2nd location tomorrow, but I know it will be expensive there.  Just looking for a good oil for a good price.

What do you folks do who have herds and all or most of them are sick at the same time?  I can barely function.  Anyway, rays for my girls would be appreciated.

Oh!  And weird.....Maddie didn't want to be in the big bed.  She wanted in the crate at 2:00 AM.  So I just switched them.  Boonie adores the big bed and I think I'm gonna have to think about having both of them there again.  Not ONE stank eye from Bonnie since Maddie's been puny.  I think she knows to cool it.

I hated leaving them today and hope we'll have better news when I get home for lunch to check on them.  Thanks for letting me prattle.

Just a suggestion, but Cod Liver Oil in capsule - prick and squeeze over food - or liquid form is fine for doggies, as is oil from canned tuna, both will help and might be easier to get hold of quickly.  Salmon oil is superb, I am in Spain and order it from www.fishf4dogs.com in the UK, we also use their fish biscuits, fish rolls and prawn biscuits - all 100% pure.  Great for coats and skin, albeit rather pricey when we include the shipping.
Hope Bonnie is feeling better soon, the Roo too and, of course, YOU.

Brown 1/2 pound hamburger, strain and rinse with hot water.  Add to 2 cups cooked white rice.  This should get her to eat and be easy on the tummy.

Winston had those exact same symptoms last week and it turned out to just be a nasty virus.  I kept him hydrated and stopped trying to give him food and he was over it in 48 hours.

Murphy and Reilly got it too a day later, but theirs presented as shivering and cold-like symptoms (runny nose and sneezing) and it took them 3 days to more or less get over it.

Thanks for all the rays.  You are the BEST!  Well, an update.  Bonnie is once again coned until her owie dries up.  Mark is picking up some fish oil tomorrow.  No more urps for Maddie and she is resting comfortably on the couch swathed in quilties and blankies.  Update on Mommy.  Mommy decided to takie the afternoon off to rest.  Came home and took a nap on the recliner with a girly snuggled on each side.  It's chilly in the house so the mound of quilties and blankies worked for me too.

Tonight I'm going to try them both in the big bed.  Hopefully everyone (and "everyone" you know who we're talking about-ahem.  Hopefully EVERYONE will just get along with no growlies.
