:dontknow: I don't know, somehow "Shorty" sounds like it shoulda been Merlin's name - you know, Shorty and Beau, the Bubbas from 'Bama? ("Them Russkies may have invaded Georgia, but they AIN'T takin' Alabama!")
And . . . I want to honor the man who made it all happen, who opened his home to a needy pupper and his heart, too, even though he knew it would break a tiny bit when the little boy left. You have the biggest heart, Mr. Ed!!
So . . . I was thinking about Mr. Edward Shortyhands Travers Speedone. And his nickname would be Travers, or maybe Travis.
Whddya think?
Auntie Karen :thinik:
my last name is Tarver Tar Ver
He'll be your baby so the name is up to you. He's only been called Shorty for the last 2 weeks so a name change would be ok with Shorty Im sure.
and Im doing rescue doxies and fostering in honor of my Simon-Angel ( aka Simon Love Tarver born February 14th) for his 11 years of dedication and service. November 29th is the one year anniversary of his trip to Rainbow Bridge. Fostering just seemed like the right thing to do, especially after I adopted Mr. Wilson. Never again will I buy a puppy, rescues for me from now on.
FYI...Simon is a Jewish name meaning He (God) Has Heard....of course I've heard different meanings of the name too but it is Hebrew/Jewish.
Go with what ever sounds good to you, after all a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.
Well, Excuse me! :2funny:
You couldn't just cooperate and change your last name? I thought not! LOL!!
Actually, I have a great compromise. The Hebrew for Simon is Shimon - pronounce "SHE-moan", and the nickname is Shimmy. He looks like he's going to have shimmering brown hair, so how about that?
Karen
P.S. I can take care of the circumcision - er, haircut!!! :chairfall:
Naming dogs is my least favorite task. I'd say you can figure it out much better than I can.
I brought him to work with me tues-wed-thurs and I was thinking "what a shame he doesn't have a good home of his own right now" he's ready to go. He's happy, warm, well feed, and busy with my pair but he's prime for his forever home.
I like Simon or SHE-moan. Beautiful name for a beautiful little boy. :hello2:

If I had a boy dachsie, one of my favorite names is Dashiell.
Tee hee, Sandi - I'm guessing for Dashiell Hammett, you fellow mystery lover, you! That reminds me - I must dig through my Alfred Hitchcock dvds again.
Congrats, Shimmy, on your new home!
