....I got this email from my brother-in-law this morning. They have a female blue heeler who is 12.5 years old and had a 2 lb. cancerous tumor taken out of her a few weeks ago. Here is a very interesting progress report on "Blue."
<"Here is another update on Blue's healing progress. As you can see from the photo, she is very much on the mend now after 5 weeks since surgery.
Normally, it shouldn't take this long to heal a surgical incision, but because a cancerous tumor was removed her immune system was compromised and the and the surgery site was further aggravated due to histamine release from the tumor. That inflamed the skin around the wound and caused it to die instead of heal.
Fortunately, around the end of week two , I was desperate to find help in healing Blue's wound, and God sent me a solution in the form of a dream, so I could help my dog.
I know this sounds corny, but the solution consisted of me dreaming about an American Indian riding a horse. Suddenly, he jumped off his horse and you could tell he was wounded. He found a shrub or some kind of dry weed and pulverized it into a powder and then put it on his wound, which stopped the bleeding.
When I woke the next morning, the dream was fresh in my mind, so I set out to find that stuff. Which I did. It was though I was being led to it.
I found a botanical called Yarrow, which actually has used to treat wounds as far back as 1200 BC, the Trojan War. The outfit in Montana that makes the stuff only sells to Vet Clinics so I found some in Florida and was able to start treating Blue with it at the end of week three. She started improving immediately. Here is where the Yarrow was made: http://www.buckmountainbotanicals.net/treatments/woundaid.html
And get this, if you don't believe this was divine intervention.........this is the place that also makes Neoplasene, a new botanical cancer drug that is being tested for human use, but is already approved for Veterinarian use. This is the stuff that is going to save Blue from death by cancer.
Blue's Vets, now after investigating the drug, are totally on board for oral adjunct treatment with Neoplasene. The protocol is so new that is literally changing all the time, which gives us a wide field to work with. I am convinced we can save Blue with this. The Neoplasene will either kill the remaining cancer cells or hold them in remission until she dies of old age.
The protocol is not easy, because the drug is a natural emetic, but if we can get it into her and she can keep it down she has a damn good chance at surviving this. There are many ways to do this. Anyone interested in reading about Neoplasene can find more info at the Buck mountain site.
If we can make this work Blue will be paving the road for many animals in the future, since she is the first dog in Alaska to do this.
I should mention that we have altered Blues diet considerably to a canine cancer patient diet, which actually is what any dog should be eating all the time, which is high protein, high fat, veggies and fruit and NO grains.
And we have, thanks to good suggestions by people who care, supplemented Blue's ailing immune system by adding high quality fermented yeast and other immune system boosters also.
I would like to add that Blue's new diet has really agreed with her. Her weight is what it should be and her coat and even her eye's are getting brighter.
She's in better shape than before the surgery.
So thanks from Blue and me for your kind thoughts, prayers and advice.">

Oh dear! That's awful!! Rays to Blue coming from us doggy lovers in SLO, CA.
Thanks guys. Blue is a sweetie, she is her papa's dog, but she will give "kissies" if you ask her.
Many healing rays and prayers on their way to Blue.....Praying the Neoplasene does the trick!!!  :xfinger:
we will keep Blue in our prayers. Another thing that is used is medicinal honey, not the stuff for on bread but it is said to have healing powers.

:book1: Back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth:
My C-Section incision became infected. My OB brought me in, cleaned the wound, painted the interior with honey - the kind you buy in the supermarket - packed in some gauze and sent me home.
Because my then-husband was a Navy Corpsman, he helped out by changing my dressing twice a day.
The six-inch long incision healed beautifully and left a tiny scar about a half inch.
Karen :hello2:
lots of rays coming for your fur-niece. There's been a lot of talk on the canine cancer boards for a while about Neoplasene... with good results. If they haven't already, they should join one of the canine cancer message boards.... they helped me a lot especially with diet and supplements, etc and there are lots of people who tried lots of things which can help lead you in the right direction and also offer great support for those days when you just feel like crying.
We were really aggressive with Franky, which is why I think we still have our beautiful boy today.
Hang in there!!!
IT CAN BE BEATEN!
