Title: Anyone hear of this Sit Means Sit Dog Training
Post by: papbouv on November 02, 2008, 06:12:06 PM
Know most of you are not into obedience training with Dachshunds it is not as crucial as with when you have a big dog just heard of this trainer Fred Hansen started up Sit Mean Sit they have 99 places around the USA that train dogs using electronic collars. I'm just being nosy because they now have one in Tulsa very few trainers around here. Thanks to all that reply.

I don't know about electronic collars, do they shock the dogs?
I rented Cesar Millan's Dog Whisperer videos from Netflix, and they helped me a LOT with dog training.

We have a place here that using those collars.  Personally I wouldn't take my dog there and that's not because I heard anything bad.  I just don't want to shock the dog into obedience.

I have read where some electronic collars have a tone not all shock the dog and some have a tone and different levels of a shock so you may only use the shock once or twice then go to a tone??? Have also read where you have to have help from a professional trainer before using a e-collar so you will not mess up the dog??? They use e-collars allot on hunting dogs since they are so far away from the handler. Some people on Doberman talk use e-collars because some Dobermans do not listen to the handler ( owner)from what I have read the Sit means sit uses some type of e- collar not sure what type but they  train with out using leashes or something like that ???
