This weekend I took my adopted baby, Mr. Wilson, to Crossville Tennessee to see his foster mother/ DRNA rep. I remember she was crying when she left him at my home last February. And while I've stayed in contact with Tracy, sent e-mail, photos and what not, I thought it would be good to get out of the house to go hang out and let her see him in real life.
This is Mr. Wilson giving his DRNA rep/foster mother kiss's

Tracy invited me to Crossville for a fall festival thingy they were having there. They also set up a pet adoption fair in a little park near the antique car show with Dachshund Rescue of North America having a little booth set up. I've been thinking about fostering for awhile now, so while sitting there a lady came to the table and said she needed to talk to us. I'm not sure of the full story on the little dog but the lady said her house keeper had a mini dachshund that she had given up on and the dog was living outside. With fall here and winter fast approaching the poor thing was in for a hard time.
The next thing I new I said "go get him and I'll take him"....and thus I'm about to become a foster parent. The whole prospect of getting a dog ready to go to a permanent home is kind of scary, but its time to "give something back". Tracy was to check on him on Sunday and in the next few days I'll be taking in my first foster.
Pray for me that I'll be able to do the right thing for this poor dog and get him ready to find a good home.
Wow! That is great! Keep us updated on how it goes :hello2:
Good for you!!! I bet it did Mr. Wilson's foster mom's heart good to see him doing so well. Great pics.
Good for you! You'll be providing a safe haven for this little doxie!
Way to go!!! Do keep us posted on how things are going. :headbang: You Rock.

Bless you-the thought of a poor little dachsie outside all winter is awful, so you're saving him/her from a long season of suffering.
You are to be commended on opening your home to this poor little doxie. Let us know how it goes. I bet Mr Wilson will help with the training (if there is to be any). That picture of Mr Wilson and his foster mom is priceless! Amazing how they remember people that were there for them when they needed help!
:apls: :apls: Wonderful! Bless you :apls: :apls:
Wonderful news! I can't wait to hear more about your new foster!
Take it from me, former foster mom drop out, these little wieners weasel their way right into your heart. I wouldn't be surprised if....
Let's wait and see.
Congratulations! :thumb:

Thats what I'm afraid of...but...Im going into this with the idea that Im not only helping the dog, I'm helping someone find a pet thats turn-key ready to go. I'll be getting "two for the price of one" kinda idea.
I just gotta keep that in mind the whole time im fostering.
