We were up ALL night. eLlIe is convinced that there is S-O-M-E-T-H-I-N-G in our heating vents. I know if I removed one of the grates she would be down the hole like a true Badger Dog! My first thought is (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/an31.gif)(http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/an31.gif)(http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/an31.gif) so I guess I am going to start out with those sticky traps in the vents.
Any other ideas ?
eLlIe here ...... there is sumfing in there .... maybe..... (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/an31.gif) or (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/spidereekA.gif) or (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/popworm.gif) or (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/elefant.gif) or (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/animal02.gif) I is trying to protect Mama ... isn't that what I am supposed to do? But at 4 a.m. Mama was getting pretty upset with me. She did mumble something as she was trying to lure me into the reclining chair with her ...... "Ellie ... this IS LOVE ...... or else I would be real angry with you"
Right now .... I am really tired ....... AND Mz. eLlIe is curled up in her chair sleeping. Grrrrrr  grrrrr  grrrrrrrr, Ruth
OH I remember that feeling. Kendall-angel used to do that do us every year in the fall and spring. It was the same type of thing. she would go from vent to vent and wouldn't rest at all. That meant there was no rest for anyone else either. The reason for her doing so, we later found, was there was a tom cat or two that would manage to get under our house and stay. She would smell them, I guess and that was it. Of course, spring was the worse, because then she could hear them. Once we had the house remodeled and a new door fixed for the underfloor access, the cats could no longer find a way to get in and the vent chasing stopped!
Just a quick warning. Keep an eye on her. Zelda managed to pull the register cover out of the floor when she heard something one time when Aunty was watching them and I was at work. Nancy went to bed and Zelda woudn't come so she left her. I came home and found it. I was tired but that sure woke me up quick. We were really lucky she was a standard and couldn't fit in the opening.

Thanks for the warning. The only thing saving us tonight is that we are house/dog sitting while friends are away! Ellie is playing with her two best friends Grady and Munchkin.
I hope I can clear out the vents b/4 we go home.

Hi from eLlIe ........ mama and I have been staying with friends..... sitting on their dogs for a couple of weeks!
When we come back home to get mail and stuff I still think there is something in these heating vents. (http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/animal02.gif) Mama has put out traps but hasn't caught anything .... she put rid-x under the house ... (where I can't get it ) vacuumed the vents, sprayed stuff etc.
Mama wants to know if anybody has used those electrical plug in thingees that are supposed to repel varmints? Since we KNOW that dachshunds are different than other dogs ......... any reactions from the puppers??
Thanks,
eLlIe
Ellie girl...you have been sitting on those dogs, huh ?!?!?!?!?!? Funny girl !!!!
Sorry little girl - I don't know anything about the plug in things......
I have a funny story for you - my schnauzer nephew was SURE there was something in the shower in the extra bathroom at his house. He would get in the tub and stare up at the shower head. If they shut the door, he would sit there and whine. They had the house tested for termites, varmits - everything you can think of. He did this for about 2 months and then just stopped. There just had to be something in there - but they never figured it out.
I trust ya Ellie - there IS something there !!!! Maybe it will be gone by the time you get to come home......
Funny that you should say he thought there was somethin in the shower ............... I asked Mama to open that door so I could get in there and check it out too ............ never did that before either.
I am at our friend's house now .... and YES I AM sittin ON those snauzzers ..... I hafta tell them whose boss ..... that's ME eLlIe !
Goodness Ellie! I think I'd grab you up and head for a motel LOL. You guyses is smarter than us guyses much of the time. We hope it not an elerfunt or a horsie or one of them things your mom showed us in her icons up there. Hee. U B careful!
We have those electric plug in thingies.. it's supposed to repel spiders and critters and other insects. We don't have any critters other than bugs in the house and squirrels that get in between the loft between the bedroom and the living room.. and it really hasn't repelled either. :p I suppose I do hear the squirrels a little less, but I don't even remember if it was supposed to anyways. We still have buggers, which is why I got it in the first place, but oh well. I haven't noticed it having any effect on the dog or cat.. If you have any small animals though, like rabbits or birds, it supposedly effects them.
