Title: Eddie is my hero
Post by: Marcia from MI on October 03, 2008, 09:19:14 AM
Dis is Cleo kitty.  Momma said that I could jump on the puter and tell you what a hero Eddie is to me.  Last night I didn't feel so good so I crawled into mamma's lap and started to have a seizure.  Well momma picked me up and put me on the couch so I couldn't hurt anyone or myself, but that didn't stop my brudder.  Eddie came up to me and started to give me nose kisses.   Momma said he was a good boy, but moved him so he wouldn't get hurt.  After a few seconds the seizure stopped and I lay on mom's lap for a bit then went over and gave Eddie a nose kiss.  So you see why he's my hero.

Marcia here:  Yes, we had a really eventful night.  Cleo had a bad seizure last night and really scared the heck out of us.  However, though he was scared Eddie stayed by her and made sure she was OK.  Cleo hadn't had a seizure for a few months then last week she had one where she fell down the basement steps, but was not hurt.  She is 17 years old and a rescue kitty that I don't know any history of before the rescue got her.  She is doing fine  now and luckily will let me know when she is about to have a seizure.

Eddie her:  AW it was nothing.  Can I have some cat food now.  Mom did give me eggies dis morning.

How scary poor Cleo. What a sweetheart Eddie is though, animals can be so amazing. I hope there won't be anymore seizures!

Good for you Eddie!!!
You are a real hero because not many dogs would do that.  Some would even attack the seizing animal.

This reminds me of the time our mother was staying at sister's house.  Twinkie climbed up on the couch by her  and onto her lap and sorta nudging her.  This was at almost the same time the seizure struck.  That was the only seizure we know she had but Twinkie sort of alerted us to it. Twinkie and Mom got along fine most of the time but Twinkie seldom got onto her lap.

Of course when I was in wheelchair from broken leg, and mother got up and walked toward me to hand me some books, MS guard dog was barking her fool head off!!! Then 30 second later was over sitting next to her gobbling treats!

Poor Cleo!  It's so scary when they have seizures.  I have often wondered just how much our furkids understand when something like this happens and if they know instinctively how to help. When Toby-Man Angel had seizures, Beatrice would do the nose kissy thing and it actually seemed to calm him.
Eddie...you are the MAN!
