Mommy and papa are back fwom dere bacashon and I'm back HOME again! :hello2: Actually the Country Club.....er.....kennel wasn't so bad. Ebberybody sed I did weel good and was vewwy nice to the doggy guests there when I got to go out and 'splore. I sure am glad to be home, dough. Funny thing dough, I hadn't even touched paw to carpet and mommy had me in da sink for a BAFF. What's up with DAT? I swept weel good da first night I was home cuz I was a tired pupper. It's hard being on guard for a whole week.

She did great! She didn't seem traumatized at all and, in fact, we suspect that she got a few lessons in socializing because we went to the park today with some from the dachsie meetup club and Maddie actually strayed away from us a few times. That is a very big step for her. She seemed a little more relaxed with all the dogs running around (including big dogs) though she hasn't quite shown folks that she can wave her tail gaily. It's still pretty much tucked.....though I saw it perk a few times. We will definitely use Spring Dale Kennels the next time we need to board the Roo.
By the way, our vacation was a little disappointing and all because my back chose to "act up" right before we left. I couldn't do some of the things.....like walk down to the path of some beaches.....that I would have liked to do.
One of the activities I had planned for us was an hour-long horseback ride in Ojai. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get balanced on the horse-thus making the horse nervous-and so we just couldn't go ahead with that plan. I have a terrible balance problem AND am afraid of heights. I was rather hoping to meet my fear with this ride, but the owner and guide (wisely) decided it would not be a safe thing for me to do. On the way dismounting-Mark had to help get my leg over the back of the horse-I took too long and the horse got impatient. He decided to take a walk with me still with a foot in a stirrup. That got me off of him in a hurry-landing me hard on my back. Darn! I was hoping the fall would fix me......no such luck. Really, I was alright but I am sporting some lovely bruises!
We drove into many mountain areas (another fear I have of windy, steep mountain roads). This fear I conquered better. While I had my thoughts to bail out a few times, overall, I did well and enjoyed the scenery. We did a lot of driving because sitting eased my back pain.
Back to work tomorrow. We are live with a new computer system so I hope I remember how to work the thing when I get sat down at my desk tomorrow morning.
Sorry that I missed some of our Star Doggies of the Day. I'll be watching for the new Stars this week.
Maddewoo, so glad to hear that you had a nice time at the Country Club :apls: But we gotta talk some about the baff....What's up wif dat? :dontknow: We say that a baff when you just get home entitles you to eggies at leasts once a week for the next two weeks :thumb: You may want to contact Porky Pie and the Dox news about that or Dr. Beau Leaky Esquire for some legal advice on your options :wink:
Can't wait to see pictures of your vacation, it sounds like you had a nice time despite your back problems. I hope you are not too sore from your ordeal with the horse. What a shame you could not do that, but it sounds like canceling the ride was for the best. I just love the mountains. Would love to see some pictures of the mountains.

I got a bath too, soon as I got in the door , Mommy says next time she going to get them to bath me before they come and pick me up. and only b@w tv, did you get a theraputic massage? I got one. I want to get adopted by the lady that does them massages. I'm still mad about the whole thing, getting abandoned and everything, and missin the weddin. I think I'll go find some mat to pee on now.
