In the summer of 2001 I went on a 13-week camping tour of the Western United States with two teenage girls and an 11-year-old younger brother.
Cooper, our Border collie/Lab mix, :angel4: was with us for the whole trip. When we visited Colorado for two weeks, Cooper got to stay at a kennel in the Denver area called Club Pet! He went for three weekends and had a great time!
He was known as a wanderer, because on the second weekend visit, he figured out how to nose his way under the chain link between runs and went visiting. He got everybody's blood pressure up the first morning they went in and his kennel was empty! Fortunately he was three "doors" down, visiting a Golden Retriever!
Whenever we arrived to pick him up, he went wild, wagging and licking us. But every time we dropped him off, he also went wild, wagging and licking the staff! What a deal he had going!
He died of liver cancer in August 2006. We miss him to this day.

I do believe that Cooper had it made in the shade. Thanks for sharing a great story, Karen. It's nice to remember our furbabies and all the joy and happiness they brought into our lives.

Aw! Isn't wonderful the fond memories are pets leave for us to enjoy forever?
