Here are the pictures I got today when I went out to get pictures of fall leaves for a painting I'm doing. Somehow Hallie always ends up in most of them. :)
A few more.
Wow DD! These are beaitiful pictures! Hallie looks like a real sun cookie! LOL Sweet girl! You take excellent pictures DD! We're going for a professional photo shoot on Saturday - 4 wieners and a mommy LOL! The poor photographer!
Haillie the Autumn leaves just go so well with you tan, youz is a beautiful girlie.
Oooh Lauri you HAVE to show me some of those pictures! I can't wait to see, how fun!
Roberta don't our doxies look beautiful in the autumn leaves. I have some of Jessie too with her red coat in the gold leaves. Today was a rare sunny day so Hallie was really soaking in the rays while I was doing some yard work. the closeup of her face there with her tooth sticking out, she is in a full run. :)
She scared me to death again today. I decided to cook in the regular oven (which I haven't turned on in...ohhh...maybe a year). A frozen salmon fillet, organic potato wedges and freshly picked green beans. I sat down to eat at the computer which I always do and Hallie suddenly disappeared. VERY unusual since I was handing her bites of green beans. I found her under my chair shaking. I was sure she was ill or hurt. I took her out to the back yard to watch her move, she seemed to move ok. But when we went to come back inside she turned at the back door and ran back out and wouldn't come in. That is not like her at all. When I coaxed her in, she ran into the computer room and jumped up on my chair. HUGE no-no, she never does that. I didn't scold her, she was obviously freaked out about something. I was wondering..earthquake coming? Hurricane? Tsunami?
Anyway...then it hit me! I had stuck the salmon back in the oven because I didnt think it was done enough, and then of course forgot about it. By the time I remembered it was sort of blackened and smoking. :doah: I noticed the house was full of a thin haze of smoke and Hallie, for some reason, is TERRIFIED of smoke. Poor thing! My cooking scared her! I don't blame her, it scares me too. I have only had her around smoke maybe 4 times since I've had her, and she freaked each time but I forgot since it's been a long time since the last time, and I am 98% sure the last time was the last time I tried to cook something! (smoke again that time). So we had to sit here for about an hour with the windows and doors open freezing our tails off, cuddled under a big blanket. She's fine now. Gads. :verdict:
Absolutely gorgeous DD!...She's soooooooooooo cute and sooooooooo photogenic!...Wish mine were...this is my first post on the new site and all these smiley's are going crazy infront of me...hahaha..I don't have a clue what to do on here...
LOL!!! DD, forgive me, but I could'nt help laughing about your cooking that scares you both  That must be some situation over there, but don't feel too bad, casuse it's the same with me too .... Poor Hallie, have you any idea where she got her fright of smoke from? Maybe her previous owners?
I'll send those pictures over ASAP. It'll be one WIENER MISSION to get everyone ready and there - Heino needs a shave, and all must be bathed and I have to pack a bag with stuff! On our way I also have to stop at Duncan to get Simson's stitches removed.
Hallie is SO photogenic!!!
WOW! Great pictures of a beautiful pupper! She should be on a calendar or something!
Hey Cheryl! How are the grrrls. I'm still a little lost on here too so don't feel bad, I dont' have the time I used to to pop in so I haven't learned all the new stuff yet. But it has some great features I love that we don't have to publish photos before posting anymore.
LOL Lauri I wish I could be there to watch that photo shoot. It's going to be great though I'm sure. Can't wait to see the results! I have often wondered too if Hallie has had a bad experience with smoke or if she is just like that. I hate to even consider it...poor baby. I also had 2 rescue people this summer tell me the white scar across her nose looks like doxies they've seen who have had their muzzles tied shut. :( I'm hoping that isn't the case.
Thanks Patty and Jenny..when you take a gazillion pictures of your baby, you are bound to come up with a few good ones LOL.
Hi Hallie,
I like the picture of you (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pangel7.gif) above the leaves. I think we can all do that if we just concentrate and let our ears lift us up (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pangel7.gif)
Love,
(http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pangel7.gif) eLlIe (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pangel7.gif)
p.s.
Mama has been reading Harry Potter again!
Those pictures...and Miss Hallie are absolutely stunning. I LOVE the picture of her running in the leaves. Simply beautiful!
Hallie Berry Butt - you get more beautimous every day! Smootches from Wisconsin!
P.S. Dee-all it takes is a picture or two from you to remind us how DEPRIVED we are of your great artistic talent. Keep 'em comin'!
How on earth can you get Hallie to pose like that so consistently? She is definitely one of the most regal looking dachshunds out there. Great pics!
What an absolutely gorgeous little girl!! You're quite the photographer, those are awesome pictures!. I really love the face close up and the running one. There's really few cuter things than a doxie bounding through a field.
Thanks Ruth, Terril, Sue , David C, Dackel (that close up shot of her face, she is in a full run) It makes it easier since she is such a little h-a-m. :glasses9: LOL Ellie we like Harry Potter too!
Haillie try to get mom to wrap the salmon in foil like an envelope prior to the oven it survives better.
Aunty roberta
Dang I wish my two would pose like Miss Hallie BB does...simply gorgeous !!!!
Sorry, but I had to laugh at your cooking story.....I cook so seldom anymore - that Rudy will bark at the oven just to remind me it is being used!!!! Hallie says....go to Subway mom - no chance of smoke !!!
Take care !
Smoochies to that beautimus fur grllllll :apls:
Hi DD & Hallie
The pictures are wonderful. Hallie is just so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous girl with us.
Your cooking story gave me a laugh. Poor Hallie. I agree with Barb, maybe going to your local Subway shop or Chinese takeout would be better. Although I know how to cook and can prepare a fairly decent meal, I seldom want to be in the kitchen anymore.

This is Brekke. My mommy sets a timer when she puts stuff in the oven. Couldn't you do that so Cousin Hallie doesn't have to be shivering? I don't like shivering either!
I like the foil suggestion. And i'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does'nt like to cook lol. I think Hallie would be more inclined to bark at the oven if I was thinking OF cooking, rather than thinking of NOT cooking. Aunt Julia, Mom did use a timer. But the fish was still yucky so she stuck it back in then she didnt' use the timer, I was her timer. When the dog starts to tremble, it means dinner is dun!
