I posted Miss Millie when I got her-I brought her home last Saturday Aug 30th and my crew has been trying to figure her out ever since. Murphy was the first one to "get" her, and for some reason she absolutely ADORES Winston-I always have to bring him in from outside and she goes wild when she sees him, turning herself inside out to kiss him and play with him. My living room is now an x-pen farm (seriously, look at that :doah: ).

This is just a funny picture of Murphy-I haven't the faintest how he managed to get his ear in that configuration.

i love it! i want a 'farm' no fair!!! :nana:
What a beautiful, beautiful doxie family you have!! I had to laugh at the x pens. That is how my house looked when Hallie was having her back problem the whole house was one big series of cages! Your new baby is as beautiful as the rest of your kids.
What sweet pictures! The coats on your longs are gorgeous! I've tried giving Gretchie everything I've heard is good for coats, but all she has is peach fuzz - and not very long peach fuzz, at that. I call her my longhair wanna be. I've been told she has a 'spay coat.' I'm afraid that's what she has because in her puppy pictures (before the spay, which was at 6 months of age), she has a coat like your pups. Anyway, very cute pictures and very pretty puppers!
Me too!! I want a dachshund farm! :headbang: I love the pics!
LOL - love the habitat you have made in the living room !!! Great pics of the puppers !
Delia, Winston has a "neuter coat" too. He was neutered at 4 months and he's a fuzz ball when I don't strip him down. His body hair is only about 2-3 inches long normally. Reilly's body hair doesn't grow much either-hers is even shorter than Winstons :dontknow: Both have really nice flags and ears though.
Your herd is gorgeous. Beautiful pictures....and I wanna farm just like yours
Australian standards says the coat should be like a red setters, Olivers the breeder considered to be good but he was just to big for a mini, hence we have him This the only photo of him standing with my mum and Amy. Lightly feathered and ruff

So does ours  It's below. The reality though is that a coat as short as both of my puppers would not be desirable. We do a lot of grooming down from a lot of coat here for the ring, but even show dogs from other countries normally have more coat than my guys.
Longhaired Dachshund - Coat - The sleek, glistening, often slightly wavy hair is longer under the neck and on forechest, the underside of the body, the ears and behind the legs. The coat gives the dog an elegant appearance. Short hair on the ear is not desirable. Too profuse a coat which masks type, equally long hair over the whole body, a curly coat, or a pronounced parting on the back are faults. Tail - Carried gracefully in prolongation of the spine; the hair attains its greatest length here and forms a veritable flag.
