Title: Why do they do these things?
Post by: Marcia from MI on September 02, 2008, 04:21:55 PM
Eddie has a ramp to the couch in the living room and is usually very good about walking all the way down, but yesterday he was down mid way and took a flying leap to the floor.  It isn't far but we have hardwood floors.  So today I bought a small piece of carpeting to put at the bottom - worked well the first couple of times until.  Cleo kitty lay down on the carpet and refused to move.  Eddie of course couldn't wait for me to move the cat and flew off the ramp again.

Eddie here:  Kitty wouldn't move her body and I had to go potty so of course I took a short cut.

My Trooper loves to jump off the steps from the kitchen door.  He just launches himself off and into the air.  He is very fast and it is usually five in the morning so I'm not so quick.  I know he has to go potty, but it is so scary.

Penny is the same way! We have two ramps on either side of the couch and for some odd reason she feels the need every-so-often to just jump off the couch!  :BangHead:

Oh No!  No jumping Mr Eddie... dats an order!

I know how you feel.... thats why DH & I are the worst dachsie parents 'cause my two aren't allowed to sleep with us or go on the furniture anymore.  As much as we miss the quality snuggle time... after Delilah's broken foot, Franky's IVDD and two dogs that think they are flying squirrels and refused to use the ramps... we put a stop to any jumping.
