Title: Furball!
Post by: David C. on August 28, 2008, 06:28:54 PM
We've been watching Eddie the Cocker Spaniel for a few days.   Zora has been ambivalent towards him.  Zeke has been hostile, but not aggressive, at least not until yesterday morning.

Eddie decided that Zora was kind of attractive and the thought of making some Cocker-Dachers was very appealing to him (never mind that both him and Zora have been fixed).   So, he decided to take advantage of Zora.   Zora, who isn't much of a fighter, literally screamed in disapproval.   This was all Zeke needed to "take the gloves off".   Zeke came charging out of the bedroom and rammed Eddie at full speed.   Zora scooted away and Zeke and Eddie began getting into it.   Zeke was at a considerable size disadvantage to Eddie, but he continued to press home his attack.   When all was said and done, it turned out to be mostly a shouting match between the two of them as neither dog had any marks on them.   Still, Zeke got his point across:   Don't mess with my sister!

Oh, Zeke!  What a guy!  I like how you protected your sister's honor - no blood was shed!  I think you should be "Gentleman of the Day" on WW!

Oh Zeke, what a good boy you are.  Protecting your Sissie's honor without drawing blood.  We think you should get a special treat and Zora should get her eggies.

We had a repeat of the furball today.  This time Eddie was able to use his size to squash Zeke.   Zora is now scared to come anywhere near Eddie.   I told my wife that if Eddie tries that trick again with Zora, friend or no friend, one size 8 1/2 left foot is going up a Cocker Spaniels backside.

Wonder if Zora has some kind of odor she maybe emitting to get this going with the Cocker since  both are fixed???? Maybe a UTI is going on or something is this a new behavior??? Just a thought.
