I posted on "Rays" regarding Duggie having to be sedated to get a good look at his ears and have them cleaned.......I dropped him off this morning between 7 and 8......the little goober thought if he hid under my arm while the paperwork was being done, they wouldn't find him.....didn't work though......they found him. He was a real little trooper and went off with the vet tech and his blankie. I called the vet's office a few minutes ago for an update and Duggie did just fine. They did the procedure this morning and he is waking up just fine. The doctor cleaned his ear(s), the eardrum was still intact (thank goodness), and they will be sending him home with medicine -- drops for the ear and also an antibiotic. The doctor's concern was that the eardrum may have ruptured based on how he started tilting his head yesterday. I can pick him up after 3 pm. The doctor was still in surgery so that is why I hadn't heard from him directly. Sounds like a busy day for him.
The house is so quiet with Duggie not here. Sarge is very low key and quiet. I didn't realize how much activity and noise Duggie makes for himself.....until he is not here. Sarge, however, has been basking in the one on one attention today. You can tell, though, that he does miss the young whipersnapper, Duggie! Duggie not here, Sarge has no one to boss around!
Thanks for the earlier rays.....once again, they worked! Dee
4:30 pm update: Duggie is home -- still groggy and a bit "tipsy" from the anthesia. The vet's office said he was a sweet boy.....talked to the Doctor who said he had wax and dirt in his ear. Said he would improve over the next few days with the head tilt. Ears are clean -- antibiotics and ear drops for the next 14 days. He seems happy to be home in a groggy sort of way. Sarge is glad to have his brudder home. Dee
