APPLE & SAUSAGE BREAKFAST PIE
Pie crust for a two-crust pie
1 can apple pie filling
1 pound ground sausage, browned, drained and rinsed
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup brown sugar
Put one round of pie crust dough in pie pan, flute and prick with a fork. Bake 5 minutes in 350F oven. Remove from oven.
Pour pie filling into partially baked crust, top with sausage, then the cheese. Mix brown sugar and remaining pie crust dough together. If you are using premade pie crust, cut second crust up into small pieces and mix with the brown sugar. Put dough/brown sugar mixture on top of cheese. Bake pie for 30 minutes in 350F oven. Cool for 30 minutes before serving.
This is killer!!!
Sounds very yummy, Patty!!! Will have to try this one... Mmmmmmm
Sounds great! One question does the mixture of the remaining pie crust and brown sugar look like a crumbled streusel topping or is it like a really dry dough? I'm imagining a crumbled topping???
Oh, that does sound yummy. I am certainly gonna try it. Thanks for the recipe, Patty.
