Well, vacation is over and it went really really fast....sigh.....too fast!!! We had four glorious days in Gatlinburg. Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The view from our Chalet was awesome!! We did alot for such a short time. We rode two chair lifts, took the tram into Ober Gatlinburg and rode on the Alpine Slide (I haven't done that since I was a kid....basically it is a cement looking slide and you go down it in something that looks like a "luge" and it is really long and steep.....We drove to Newfoundland Gap where you can look out over five states. We hiked to Laurel Falls and on the way to and from saw four black bears; a momma with three cubs and another smaller bear. I tried to get pictures but it is hard to see the bear in them, the foliage was too dense. We went on a Ghost Hunt tour (Gatlinburg is really haunted....weird stuff goes on there) and heard some very interesting stories of murder and mayhem!! (I wouldn't ride the Space Needle if I were you because one of the elevators is haunted) We played Hillbilly Golf and shopped and shopped and ate and ate.

Glad you had a great time. I love the mountains. I'm so glad I live so close. I go at least once a year if not more. The Chimney's have a great place to picnic and wade in the stream. One of my favorites. Loved your pictures.

There is just something about those Tennessee Mountains. Randy and I are going to try to get up to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg in October. I've got to get online soon and make reservations since that is one of their peak seasons there. One reason I never minded driving the 6 hours to visit Meghan in Nashville was because of the beauty of the mountains. We have the N.C. mountains an hour away from us, but they aren't as pretty as the Tennessee ones.
:meme: Boy it would be a great place for a doxie meet-up October 24 - 26. The Herd and I could come down from Baltimore, Darcel and Sol-da-Man are right around the corner and maybe David, Margie and the Maryland Z's could come. Plus anyone within driving distance!
It would be FUUUNNN!!
