Title: 8 1/2 week old baby boy killed by dogs
Post by: papbouv on July 28, 2008, 06:10:04 PM
Tulsa OK news a 8 1/2 week old baby boy was in a baby swing, loose in the house was a 6 week old Labrador Retriever pup & an adult Pug the parents and the baby's Grandmother also in the house. The paramedics said the baby had dog bite wounds on it they do not know who the offending dog was or if both pup & dog were both offenders.
I can see where the baby being in the swing might kick in prey drive with the swing going back and forth, just wonder about some parents nowdays very, very sad.

WHERE WERE THE PARENTS!!!  You do not leave an 8-1/2 week old baby alone in a swing.  Let alone one that is swinging.   :cussing:
If the parents or grandparents had been in the room with the baby, they would have been in a position to do something.

Now the poor dog or dogs are going to have to pay the price by being put to sleep.  :BangHead:   Some people.

If I had to choose, I'd say the Lab puppy, being a puppy, was probably playing a "great game" of "Make the baby squirm and Cry."

But - really we would need to know more.  Were the bites the cause of the fatality?

More information on the news the Lab puppy was 2-3 months old Tulsa Police department requested that the Lab puppy be put to sleep which they already did. No information on the Pug as yet the baby was born in May of this year the father was not at home but the Grandmother and mother were home in another part of the house.
I would also think a baby would not be holding up its head that well at that age, they said the Grandfather put the baby in the swing before going to work. The father of the baby was 18 years old and the mother 17 years old they also said back in January the mother had put a restraining order on the father but then put a stop to it.?
The baby in the swing would have been great fun for a puppy but you would have thought the baby would be screaming at first bite? I should not speculate was not there.
