We recently got Penny a new doggie door for our back slider. Our old one didn't allow us to lock it to the sliding door from the outside. We were locking it from the inside and having to walk all the way around our townhome building (7 units) to get to our carport in the back. So I finally found one online that had a locking mechanism and I am thrilled!! The only problem was that the rise was quite a bit higher and we didn't like that Penny would take a nose dive when she went out. So Drew built her a ramp to make sure she wasn't stressing her back as she goes in and out about a million times per day!!
That is awesome Kari, drew is really handy! Looks like great traction too.
That almost looks like a Molly-size door!! What did Drew use for the traction on the ramp? We need to put something on ours, especially for Molly, in case it ever happens to rain around here. Dad added some shallow cross boards and they help, but she still needs a little more traction.
We found that black traction at Home Depot in the floor/rug department. They have carpet runners on big rolls and you can have them cut you whatever size you want. They also have the astro turf and this black traction stuff. It worked perfect!
looks like the expensive one we are looking at as it locks. Wha whooooooooo and what a cool ramp.
