Title: Anyone own a Kuranda Dog Bed?
Post by: Frankys_mom on July 07, 2008, 07:10:40 PM
I need to find a new Delilah-proof bed for Franky while we are at work.  Does anyone own or knows someone who owns a Kuranda Dog bed?  I'm looking for some feedback 'cause they are kinds pricy.
THANKS!!

We have one that is similar to the Kuranda dog bed; but it wasn't made by Kuranda.  Have you checked Ebay?

Cocoa and Ladybug loved it; but, the current trio ignore it during the summer.  They will use it in the winter since it is closest to the fireplace:)

Yes I have a Kuranda Dog Bed for my Doberman have had it about as long as I have had the Doberman about 2 years it has made it though the Doberteens no damage. It is on the Patio which is small has three sides & a top front part is open to all of the elements it gets rained on snowed on the east sun is on it in the mornings just hose it off & it looks like new.The reason why I got it was because Doberman Rescue recommends them and uses them Dobermans are Champion destroyers of most everything around put the right up their with Labrador Retervers which are known to be major chewers of everything.
Good Luck in your quest for a dog bed.

Here's a bed idea.  This is absolutely Dixie proof.  Dixie was my very first dachsie in my married life many a year ago.  This hound was a TERMITE and would eat EVERY bed we bought for her.  We finally found our solution at Home Depot.  We purchased a hard plastic cement tub.  It was roomy and low enough so that she could go in and out of it.  It was hard enough that she couldn't eat it.  I still can see the little teethie marks, but no real harm done.  Toss in lots of blankies and you've got a bed.  It was a real hit at our house and very inexpensive.

We bought a medium sized tupperware type condainer,  for my daughters doxie and hubby cut out the front and I bought a small pillow (standart size)  that fit in it,  and he has had the bed forever. He was also bad in destroying his beds. I think we bought the container at Big Lots. Very easy to clean also.

Thanks everyone for the awesome ideas!  Hmm, I'll have to post a pic of what we end up doing.  See.... Delilah destroys everything, but Franky is the one who needs the bedding/cushioning for his old bones.  Separating them just doesn't work, so you all have stirred up my creativity to come up with a home-made chew-proof option rather than spending like $100 on a bed that I think might be too high or uncomfortable (Kuranda).
THANKS!!! :thumb:

First I've heard of this Kuranda bed, it looks more like a doggie trampoline.  :thinik:
What are the benefits of this bed, more comfortable? :dontknow: or just more chew proof?  :thinik: :dontknow:

Funny looking anyways... :2funny:

I like the tupperware idea... keeps em fresh longer.. :2funny: :idiot:  :nana:

Our puppers just sleep on OUR bed!!!

Might have to get one of those for the better half and I.

Our pups really like it so it must be comfortable. We take it camping:) and use it our in the yard, of course in the house they use the couch and our bed for sleeping.
