Rays please and a prayer or two. You may have heard about the Gap Fire in Goleta, CA. Well, my dad and stepmom and my brother and his wife and son live there. Mark's parents are there too, but not quite in the line of the fire. Dad and Joyce (and Buffy dawg) have just received evacuation orders so I imagine they're pulling out about right now. Maybe it's just not hitting me, but I just can't imagine that they are in dire trouble, but fires are tricky and winds can shift. Anyway they have loaded their trailer and are on their way to an evacuation center. Scott and Amy are away but will be home tomorrow. They, too, will head to a shelter if needed. Mark's parents are not in any immediate danger from the fire, but the smoke is really bad. We were there yesterday and it was terrible. Anyway if ya can spare a prayer, I'd sure appreciate it. Oh, Sandi. I'm sorry to hear this. I was wondering when those awful fires would hit someone on this board. Prayers and thoughts going out their way.
Of course I can spare one.... :angel4: prayers on route! :thumb:
Absolutely and on the way!
THE MORE RAYS YOU SEND THE MORE THEY MULTIPLY.
Lots of rays coming from Bawlmer to my home state. I grew up in Santa Monica and used to visit Solvang all the time. My brother lives in Oxnard Shores.

Those fires are so scary! I hope they are OK- I know that air quality can be dangerous too, so I hope and pray they will be ok.
My family faced it last year and I know where you are coming from. Many rays and thoughts of rain or a wind change.

Rays on the way..... it has all looked so bad. Please keep us posted....
Thank you so much for all your good thoughts. The area where Dad is has been downgraded now. Last night was a productive night in fighting that dragon. The winds for mild. Dad and Joyce are only on a warning status now. Hopefully those brave folks fighting this thing AND the one in Big Sur (we here in SLO are mostly affected by that one) will get a handle on it soon.
Floods, fires, tornados. What a wild year this has been!
Rays from Oklahoma too we had a drought last year could smell the smoke in our back yard even though the fires were along way off from us.

Rays being sent from Florida..... let us know how everyone makes out Sandy. Your family will be in my prayers.
Oh Sandi....many prayers and rays on their way to you and your family from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Hope the fires get put out very soon.
HOW DID I MISS THIS???? :verdict: Many rays & prayers coming from Idaho... Hope things are ok...
That would be so scary. I hope they will all be OK, and that their homes will be spared.
Sandi, do you want the books back when I am finished with them?
Ah! Thank you everyone! :) The Gap fire, last I heard, is about 55% contained. Looks like better days ahead in Goleta.
Patty, these are my gift to you. Keep them and ENJOY.
Sandi, its good to hear that the fire is under control.
And THANKS for the books! You are a sweetheart, and a true friend.
