Post by: papbouv on June 18, 2008, 10:55:17 AM
Patches is a trash dog will get into the trash if left loose in the house so put all trash containers in the bathtub hate to have to crate a 29 month old dog.Thought I had everything covered so she could be loose NOT she went and pooped on Daddy's bed Daddy not happy camper. This is not the first time makes it about the 3rd time. Daddy says No More being Loose.Simple solution close bedroom door not able to do that Old house door will not stay closed can be pushed open by Doxie nose.Daddy will not fix door so guess she will have to be crated from now on any ideas why Patches might be doing this she loves her Daddy he never gives her corrections just pets she loves to sit in his lap also????

HOOK AND EYE!!

AVAILABLE AT ANY DRUG STORE, HARDWARE STORE, MOST SUPERMARKETS!

BUY ONE, INSTALL IT, TELL DH "THERE, DEAR.  I YOU DON'T WANT POOP, YOU WON'T HAVE POOP.  I'M WORKING ON GETTING THE PROBLEM SOLVED.  PLEASE BEAR WITH US."

Remember - if it has testicles or tires, it's going to give you trouble!

A baby gate is another option, if ya got one or can afford one. You might look at the Salvation Army store to buy one cheap.

Having been a doxie owner for a little over 13 years I can tell you this,...Dachshunds are astute judges of character and vindictive.

after reading this  http://www.wienerwritings.com/forum/index.php?topic=5329.0

I get the feeling that the dog is tellin daddy that he's mean schitt. That sitting in dads lap and wagging the tail is just the dogs way of sucking up.

I could be wrong, I have been before....but it wouldn't surprize me at all if thats exactly why daddy has poop in his bed.

The only other thing I could tell you is to make sure you take the dog for a walk and a poo before you leave the house

Sorry I couldn't be more help

It can also be a sign of dominance, being able to do what they want when they want. The trash is  just catching and tin of nails rattled and very loud NO, but mind you we had a 17 yr old and blind that still attempted bin raids.

We crate the Zs when we're not around, both are six years old.  They are perfectly fine in the their crate.  Zeke & Zora have each other, and they have their blankies.   They just snooze until we come back home.
