Title: From the foot of the Rainbow Bridge - Good-Bye!
Post by: Doxherding Karen on June 13, 2008, 06:04:03 PM
:angel4:  Well, hello to all from the foot of the Rainbow Bridge:

This is Roscoe, The Handsome One, and it sure feels strange saying good-bye to all you puppers and hoomans.

I want to thank all of you for takin' such good care of Auntie Karen.  She's been doin' a lot of weepin' and try as I might, I just can't seem to get there from here to lick away her tears.  But Guinness and Merlin and Beau have been snugglin' her and lickin' her 'til she finally says, "Enough!  Get a grip, guys!"  Of course she's always yelling, "Guinness!  Get a room!" but I don't know what that means.
What is her deal?

Anyway, Porky, you be good and don't let Baby Dog drive you crazy.  Loki, "SIT.  STAY."  Your momma will tell you when it time to start rippin' and runnin' again.  Clifford, don't eat too much carrot cake - at your age, vegetables can cause gas.  Sarge and Duggie - watch out for them alien mowers.  They look just like that Rover that landed on Mars last month.  Check the schedule - you never see NASA photos on Wednesdays.  Penny and Maddie and elLie and Amy and all you good lookin' women - don't believe anything Merlin tells you.  Remember his motto, "Open the door - I disappear."  He'll love you and leave you.

I gotta go now - there's a whole bunch of doxies just on the other side of the bridge - Max and Rudy and there's good ol' Looie!  Boy it'll be great to spend time with all of them 'til Auntie Karen comes to meet me.

Take care of each other and G-d bless us every one.

Roscoe, The Handsome One.

("Didn't Tiny Tim say that, Max?")
("You mean the guy with the Afro and the ukelele, Looie?")
("He means the kid in a 'A Sale of Two Titties'.")
("Roscoe, that's "A Tale of Two Cities.")
("Oops.  Sorry, Rudy.  My bad.")
(It's O.K., Roscoe.  Let's go over the Bridge, what do you say?")
("Good idea!  Glad I thought of it!")

Oh, Roscoe, you've always had a way with words. You have fun at The Bridge. Don't forget to look in on Momma Karen occasionally. We'll all come join you someday. Hey, if you run into Heidi (dox/poodle mix - B/T) and Nugget (red LH), tell them their parents think of them often.

fairwell :angel4:, and keep minding over Karen. Here's a warning avoid at all cost a  short hair black and tan called Emma, she will boss you about and likes things her way, so stay away for a quiet after life.

I had some tears while reading this, but they were tears while smiling. What a sweet farewell. Enjoy yourself at the Bridge Roscoe. You deserve all the fun you can handle! We'll make sure Auntie Karen is okay on this side. We'll be sure to remind her that you are watching out for her-and possible getting the dog-a-pult ready for her again one day. You'll know when she's ready.

Roscoe - the Bridge will accept you with open arms, even though we cry for you here on Earth.  You will be welcomed by many that have gone before you who will enjoy your way with words and your good looks.  Godspeed sweet boy - we will miss you.....

Roscoe, you go on in and enjoy the bridge.  I asked my Heidi Ho to come and show you the ropes.  Don't let her get too bossy.  Normally she's ok, but she can get carried away.  Remember we will miss you, but know that Auntie Karen is in good paws.  Kisses and belly rubs until we meet again.

Thank you for that touching tribute, and thank you for remembering my first pair of dachshunds.   Yes, I'm sure Rudy & Max are showing Roscoe the ropes along with their pal Looie, and so many other wonderful puppers who we've gotten to know and have passed on.

Oh, Roscoe!  We will miss you alot...   The tears are streaming here, I had no idea!!  I am soo sorry Karen, I have been wrapped up in my own life lately, and I lost time with my friends...   It has been a hard couple months(will post on that in OT)..   Roscoe, Princess Emmy says she sends her love to you & that she will never forget you...  Hey, if you see our Boo(he looked just like Emmy) tell him hello for us and that we miss him and love him...  But, I am sure he is running alongside his Aunt Bridgette(SH Red), Grandpa Bach(SH Red), his Daddy B.J.(SH Red), Mommy Kenya && his Grandma Elsa....  (Both SH Black & Tan)...  Keep an eye out for them, they would love to have you join them....   Our hearts go out to you Karen && the herd...   We will never forget Roscoe The Handsome One....   GodSpeed sweet boy....
