I'm sure we would all love to have an update. I have a feeling you are doing pretty good now and the bad stuff is becoming a memory (more like a nightmare, but still in the past). It's great to see you on the board again!
Doing better, still sore and stiff in the area of surgery. Gotta take it real easy. No energy but its only been three weeks since the surgery. Just spent two weeks resting at the family cabin, Willy and Alex loved it, and so did I. My folks spend their summers there, and my sister from Homer came up. I ate very well and had good company. So far I don't know when I will go back to work, if ever. Its the 2-hour commute (round trip) that gets me. I had been putting in 12-hour days.....5am-5pm, and I just don't think I can do that anymore. Aetna is being very good to me, they approved long term disability for a year, but of course, the doc has something to say about that. I will be seeing him on July 3rd. I'm not sure how all that works, but Aetna is sending me the paperwork to explain it all. All in all, I am very fortunate. I have options. I also have a big house payment and do need either the full-time employment or the disability until the three lots sell. And I do thank God daily that I have all the great options.
Thanks for asking how I was doing!
Patty can you work from home for a few days of the week, and use the internet to communicate with work. Glad to hear you are gradually on the mend.

I've talked to my workplace about that. They do set people up at home, but only when absolutely necessary and if there is no room in the office building. What I do is not unique and they don't have to have me do what I was doing. Anyone else there could do it. The work I was doing was perfect for working at home. I was sort of a one-person job, I managed and did the work on a drafting contract we have with the local electric company. I'd work on my own nearly 100% of the time, only needing to go see the client once every few weeks or so. It was great. I'd love to have my life back, the one I had before all this happened, but it DID happen and I feel I am at a crossroads in my life. I was working on figuring out a way to retire early, and was supposed to go to Arizona in March to meet with my folks' financial advisor, but had to cancel that trip due to my ruptured discs. The financial advisor told me that Dan and I are in really good shape and that early retirement for me is very possible. Dan will be able to retire in two years at age 62. Most of what happens to us, early or otherwise, depends on the sale of the three lots.
