Schatzi has really found her voice here. Thank goodness we don't have neighbors on one side of us. We had commented at first on how quiet she was since she didn't hear someone opening and closing doors all the time like she did at the condo. Well, she has now discovered that people walk down "her" street and she wants to "greet" them. She is about to drive me nuts with it and I can just imagine what the neighbors are thinking. I've got to come up with some way to quiet her down or no one will ever buy the house next to us! I don't want her to become the neighborhood nuisance who barks all the time. Any ideas??
My Lhasa, Sully Angel used to attack the window every time someone walked by or have a barking contest with the lab next door. I used the pennies in the can trick and it worked. It even trained the dog next door not to bark when she saw Sully.
My two also bark when they hear a car door, hear the dogs bark next door, etc. What is the Pennies in the can trick? I don't know about that. I would love to try it!!
Penny trick. Put a bunch of pennies in an empty pop can, tape it shut and then every time they bark when they shouldn't shake it and say NO!!
we only have to bring the tin with the nails in it out and Amy goes quiet.
Duggie is our barker......pennies in the tin can work wonders. All that has to happen now is for him to see the can and for us to say "Be Nice".
I found lots of pennies while moving and its supposed to be a little cooler this weekend, so I think we will give this a try. I sure hope it works. I really like my neighborhood!
