So after recovering from Cleo's seizure I had to take Snickers to see Dr Cindy on Friday. Kitty has been off a bit now and then and has quit using the one litter box, so when I noticed blood in her urine it was off to visit Dr Cindy. After doing a quick urine test Dr Cindy said she thought Snickers might be diabetic and would need Insulin shots every day, just what I need a cat, who hates to be held needing Insulin shots. So Dr Cindy drew blood and said to bring kitty back on Tuesday so they could start her on Insulin and get it regulated.
Prayers went out to St Francis and fingers were crossed. Called Dr Cindy yesterday morning and kitty is NOT diabetic. She does have raised liver enzymes which could be due to the bladder infection. So we are on Antibiotics and lots of wet food for weight gain. Since the old litter box is not being used we bought a new fangled thing that utilizes pads similar to puppy pads and so far it seems to be a favorite. Now if the kitty pads weren't so darn expensive and we won't mention the litter. But if it keeps kitty healthy its worth it.
Cute story - when we got home from the vet I let Snickers out of the carrier and Eddie started to sniff and whine - kitty turned around and smacked him in the face, guess she was feeling better.
Oh Marcia - rays on the way for Snickers - so glad she is not diabetic and keeping good thoughts that the meds will take care of it !!! Keep us posted !
