Hello All!
Its been awhile since we were last able to post...
Lots of water under the bridge,, so to speak.
First off, the wife's ma had a seizure..
found a tumour on her brain..... not good.
But, after surgery and excellent Dr. care that ordeal is over with everything working out 100%
we are soo thankfull for the blessings the big guy allowed us!
It was inspiring just how powerfull prayer can be
Then just as all that was starting to wind down,, another situation rears it head.
me. :doah:
Attacked with a perforated Diverticula..... :ambulance:
Emergency surgery saved my sorry butt. :bandaid:
Just made it the docs said...
I'm all hooked up to control my movements....
Life has definately changed around here..
What was taken for granted,,, sure isn't anymore!! :thumb:
What a difference a couple hours can make.... Yeesh!
Anyways,,,, all is getting slowly better,,
it'll be a bit till I'll be my old self again.. :xfinger:
Everything seems brighter somehow,,,, newer,,, more special... :angel4:
Surely this is a gift!, a new beginning... :angel4:
but already I am walking the dogs and immensely enjoying every painfull step of it! :thumb:
got to keep moving,, keep things flowing..
Were the dogs ever worried when I was under attack.. whining and fllowing everywhere before we rushed to Emerg.. :ambulance:
Such good puppies...
I love them so....
they were sure happy when I got home....
brought a tear to the eye :comfort:
I may be posting more now that I'm home,, just, and can't do much else..
Here's a couple snaps of my walks.... my much loved dogs..... :comfort:
Its good to be back
Goodness you have sure been through the wringer!! SO glad you are ok (and your MIL as well!) Yeah you just never know what life will throw at you. Love the photos of your two beautiful babies. They both look very happy and loved. And obviously are. Last year when I had to go to the ER in the middle of the night, I was in so much pain I could barely move and was ready to pass out but I had to get Hallie's X Pen across the couch, etc before I could drive myself in. So as I was hobbling slowly around and trying to stay concious (at 3 am) poor Hallie was so distraught she kept running over and turning around and sitting on my feet. She had never done that before, broke my heart and still brings tears to my eyes. I try really hard to take good care of myself so something like that will never happen again! Things upset our kids more than some people know. Keep taking care of yourself and don't overdo, you are right there is a lot of power in prayer!
Thanks DeeDee. means alot coming from you!
I'm so glad Hallie's doing better! soon we all will be.... :hello2: :thumb:
Oh my goodness. Thank God you and your mother in law are alright. You have really been through it!! Yes, our babies are a Godsend to us and they do pick up on everything. I think they worry about us as much as we worry about them. Please take care of yourself and don't overdo it. Take as long as you need to recouperate. Many prayers and hugs going out to you and your family :comfort: :comfort:   Please keep us posted on your progress!!
I am so glad you are both okay now and hope your recovery goes quickly. I know that it will never seem to be going quickly enough for you! I have experienced a close call myself and know what it is like to realize just how precious this life we have is and how powerful prayer can be. When I have moments (or hours) when I get really frustrated and think things are really going wrong and life it terrible, I remember that I am priviledged to still be experiencing any part of this life, good or bad. Those close calls will change your outlook and it is usually for the better.
Enjoy all the puppy loving. It is the best medicine there is (and I'm sure they will be happy to help you keep moving all you need to).
Thanks so much Cheryl and Teresa!
It was quite the ride.
Everything happens so fast it seems...
funny, how a couple of negatives can create so many positives.... :thumb:
and
Ya, having the puppers is definately good therapy...
I love watching them play together,, such a Mutt and Jeff combo...
soo funny, but it hurts when I laugh.. haha, ouch.
Did I say Thanks... thanks both of you!
Oh my goodness!! You sure had a rough time! How scary! I'm so glad you are doing better and that your Mother in Law is doing better. Your dogs are really beautiful!!! Sending prayers for you and your family for your health and protection! You could all use a break!!
I think it is time to take it easy and try to enjoy your "new beginnings" starting with those lovely fur-kids. I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties; but, very happy to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Take care of yourself!

Hey, did that good-lookin' poodle ever run the Iditerod? There's a team still out there that hasn't checked in! LOL!!
Dr. Royal Mounted Leaky :rescue:
Glad to hear you are finally onthe mend and great to hear your pair helped. They look a happy pair, enjoy their company while you recover.
DA gang
Yikes! Sounds like you've been through it. Glad things are settling down for you. Your pictures of the pups just make me smile. Aren't they great? I think if we're down or sick or having STUFF in our lives, they really help us to cope. Good job, doggers, for helping your family when they needed it! :hello2:
Quoteever run the Iditerod
Oh Karen!! you girl you..
if'n she did she likely would not come back... she's got her own program goin on
Thanks Roberta,,,, yes the puppers are a happy pair, they have the power to bring the spirits way up fast!
The poodle is fairly aloof, female I guess , the Doxie is the real character... quite the combo  :2funny:
Thanks Sandi_____
I'm glad they make you smile
They help cope BIG TIME, I would never want to be without puppers..

Actually, the poodle looks like she's trying to ignore the circus act sitting next to her. "It's not really a dog, everyone. We've had it checked." LOL

AND LOOK WHAT I FOUND ON THE INTERNET - MUSHING POODLES!!!
Mushing Poodles..   :thumb:
yep, thats the best multitasking dog out here IMO and one of the reasons we chose such a manyfaced dog  :apls:
We spent yesterday afternoon and evening with some friends of ours (got a wonderful break from all the packing and craziness at home) who have a standard Poodle and Golden Retriever. Belle, the poodle is 13 now and still loves to play with Copper. It is so fun to see the dainty poodle wrestle with the Moose! Copper is a huge Retriever so that is exactly what he looks like next to her. She will make anyone fall in love with the Standards. I just can't believe she is 13 already. I remember when she was just a puppy...

Thats a dayum handsome crew you have there.
Don't know ya, but glad to hear thing are going better.
Teresa  The happiness of the Standard Poodle was one of the draws to deciding which breed we wanted next, the smartness and the non shedding was a big plus also
The way she plays with Ceaser is just tooo funny :2funny: Ceaser being so quick and small hides under her long legs nipping at her legs, while she spins around trying to grab him! He lets her win by rolling over finally and she grabs him by the throat
he is in no danger! She would never hurt him, he's her best little buddy
As soon as she lets up he's back nippin at her ears then going for her legs again...
It lasts for a good 1/2 hour mostly...
all the while Millie is moaning like a bear cub.
Outside, she's way faster, Ceaser does the Doxie roll onto his back while Millie tries to bowl him over!
Millie the poodle was born in the millenium, hence the name! Makes it easy to remember how old she is... haha :doah:
Its funny how ancient instincts kick in watching "the Doxie roll" somehow thru time they have learned to roll on the shoulder to expose flashing teeth to anything coming fast from behind. He was maybe 9 months old when that "kicked" in. :dontknow:
Hello JetEd, Thanks for the compliment :thumb:
Its a handsome crew but different mix for sure! :2funny:
Had the poodle for quite a few years and just wanted a smaller dog to cuddle with more as the poodle is kind of an aloof dog..
(mentioned the female persuasion earlier) :doah: :verdict:
Decided somehow on a Smooth Dachshund, we always kind of wanted one,,, and we are just totally impressed with him!
Either they are all so special little dogs or we just got a exception...
He is so smart and happy and funny....
he's just fun to be around :hello2:
I doubt we'll ever be without a Dachshund now.
I must be bored....
Sorry to hear what you and you MIL have been through but glad to worst is behind you both. The pictures of the 'kids' are wonderful! They look like such good buddies. Thanks for posting them.
Good Lord, having been thru the wringer recently myself, I can relate. So glad you and your MIL are doing better.
Thanks Delia  Yep its all smooth sailing from here.... I'm praying
Patty,,,, yes we are somewhat in the same boat :bandaid:
I pray for the best for you as well in your recovery.. keep thinking good thoughts eh!
