Title: River
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on May 23, 2008, 12:02:01 AM
Hallie and I found the most wonderful spot today. Totally private, beautiful meadow we walk through with lots of trees to a path through the woods to this river. The weather was perfect (I like it overcast and cool!) and swallows were swooping all around us as we sat on the bank in the breeze looking out on the river. We even walked right past a deer!

She's sitting on my lap here. Doesn't the back of her head look like a little girl!

I took this one to show you guys her patch now...it's been 3 months almost to the day since she's been shaved. Still a fair amount of skin showing thru. Does this rate of growth seem normal or is it really slow, it seems reallllly slow to me...

I would have to say her hair regrowth is normal.   If she was a smoothie, she would be done by now.  Hallie is looking very trim and of healthy weight, and yes, the back of her head does look like a little girl.  What a beautiful spot you guys found at the river.

Oh, wow! That spot is gorgeous! My point of reference being Texas, that looks like paradise! She DOES look like a little girl in that shot. Her patch does look kinda slow, but I wonder if it's because her hair is soooo long? The hair on Gretchen's back is not much longer than Hallie's patch, so she would look more filled in than Hallie does.

Beautiful river view!  Brekke's hair grew in that slowly from her shaving for the I.V.s she had last August when we rushed to emergency.
Shh - Hallie - don't tell Brekke and Robin that they could order sandwiches, too!  My boy always thinks he is starving!   :angel4:

What a beautiful peaceful spot you found.  I could just sit there for hours and watch nature at work.  It's so nice to see pictures of you and Hallie enjoying yourselves again.  It makes us all very very happy    I know you may think that Hallie's hair re-growth is taking a long time, but I agree with Delia that it may just seem that way due to her other hair being so long.  Anyway, hair re-growth patch or not....Hallie is just a gorgeous little girl

That's a very good point Patty! She would be about done now if she were a smoothie. She has absolutely no undercoat which I think is why you can still see skin between the hair but the length is getting there. It feels so silky now instead of fuzzzy and there is finally enough if she sees a cat across the street and barks at it, you can see the mohawk standing up down the middle. Funny because you can't see it stand up in her normal haired area up farther. All we need at that river are some Alaska bald eagles! Thanks re: her weight, it is such a dang struggle to keep her this thin I hate that she's always hungry. I give her baby carrots and things to help but I sure wish I could just let her eat all she wants. But I know the consequences are worse than being a bit hungry most of the time. Her hair makes her look fuller when she's totally wet in the bath she is just a thin little tube. I bought a baby scale for her and weigh her every few days to make sure she isn't gaining too much.

Delia you are right and the hair on top of Hallie's back is much shorter than on the sides. So hopefully that will match up soon and the part on the sides of her won't be so noticable while it grows in. I don't know though I've seen some awfully beautiful shots of Texas on TV! Hope I get a chance to see it one of these days!

Thanks Barb LOL one day in a store a woman came up laughing and saying how the back of her head looks like a little girl. Those tufts sticking up on her head are from me chopping the rats out of her hair...she normally never mats but this time of year her allergies flare up and she will scratch at her ears and that causes these mats. So she looks a bit bedraggled at the moment.

Hallie says to tell Brekke and M. Robinton that it's great other than her Mom always orders vegetarian! She wants some MEAT!!!

Exactly Cheryl! I could sit in places like this with Hallie all day. I love having her on my lap and cuddling her and talking to her while we watch the birds and things. She acts like she knows what I'm saying and I love watching her little expressions while she watches stuff and sniffs the air. She always will turn to give me a kiss now and then.

Ooh yeah Darcel I hadn't even thought of dipping the both of us in! I was wearing a winter coat in this pic, it's still quite cool here but this summer it will be a nice little dipping spot!

Thanks tpoof!  As you have experienced yourself here lately, we have to make the very most of the good times while they are here!
