Title: For Brekke's Mom
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on May 22, 2008, 02:06:42 PM
Did you get my latest email from a few days ago on picture taking? I am in no hurry for a reply but didn't want you to think I was ignoring you as I know you didn't get the first one I had sent. I hit reply to one of your emails so I "think" I have the right address but I something could be amiss!
Hugs to Brekke and her new brudder how are things going???

Oops!  Yes - sorry for being such an airhead!  I have read it, taken note, and will get busy asap - we are down to the last 4 days of school with kiddos, and then teachers go back for a workday and district luncheon on June 2.

The new brudder and sister team is getting along quite well.  I have a crate open in the kitchen, blankies on the floor, the doggie door is open in the kitchen, but only to the east yard (which is about 5' x 20') and nothing but a run, they have two bowls of fresh water, several toys are out, and the ex-pen is folded in pieces and standing across the doorway to the living room in such a way that Master Robinton cannot push it over - he did that two days in a row last week!  They have the hallway, but I close the bedroom doors so no havoc can be wreaked!  They love greeting me at the utility room door when the garage door goes up around 4, and no one watches dinner made as intently as Robin!  I get lots of snuggles as I watch Millionaire and Jeopardy, and as I correct papers or work on school projects.  It is good to be the momma!

Good I'm glad it got to you OK but NO hurry I just wanted to make sure it got there. Wow only 4 days left! A whole glorious summer stretches ahead! To get really bonded with your new little boy...I am so happy you have him and it sounds like Brekke is getting used to the idea? That is just so wonderful you've added to your family!!! Sounds like the perfect setup for those 2!

That does sound like a great set up. I'm taking notes for Schatzi for Molly to use in a couple of weeks. We are planning to give them the kitchen during the day. Schatzi doesn't know it yet, but she will have a window! I'm going to create a seat for her, with a ramp or some way to get up to it (similar to King Sol's throne) so she can look outside during the day. They will have the doggie door, so I hope they will be quite content. Keeping them in there will be the biggest obstacle, especially since there are two doorways, not just one.
Julia, I was just thinking about something. I do believe Mr. Robinton has been sent to you to make the transition home much easier for you and Brekke. He is a great comfort for you and also a great distraction for Brekke. The timing was just wonderful. I have a feeling you will have a wonderful summer!

They will LOVE the window! You are going to have some great nose art in there and steamy breathing spots.  :thumb: Lucky dawgs!
I have the same feeling about Master Robinton. None of these guys come along as an "accident".

Very well said, Teresa. My sentiments, exactly.

:thumb: I believe I mentioned a few weeks back that the dogapault was possibly aiming at me.  That particular little boy didn't work out, since I never heard from those people again, but Robinton is the result of the friend and her husband who oversaw RC's move-out - she saw the poster at one of the schools she supervises, and knowing what a dachsaholic I am, immediately let me know.  I know dachsie-angels are watching over me! :angel4:

I am delighted that the Brekke and Robinton relationship is blossoming.  The boy sounds SO adorable!  Have a GREAT summer and kisses and snuggles to your wonderful doggers.

BTW, if you want to beat the heat, pop on over the mountain and see us.  Bring the kids and we'll have a HOWLING good time.  It would be cool if you could drop in on a Sunday, first of any month.  That's when all the crazy SLO wieners get together.  We all have a really good time.

Anyone else reading, the invitation is open for a play day with the dachsies!
