Title: TREE hogs?? WT???
Post by: Leslie on May 18, 2008, 01:36:58 PM
I knew that baby ground hogs could climb, but this morning I saw a fully mature female (Let's just say she was, uh well, endowed.)  sitting about 17' up in my mulberry tree, happily sitting upright and eating leaves and branches.  Then she climbed down--face first like her smaller cousins.

If Zuzu gets wind of this there will be no peace at my house.

Groundhogs aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in nature's chandelier...although one that far up a tree is definitely a first.   It probably got chased up the tree and figured, heck since I'm there, I might as well have a snack!

Hey Leslie be careful she may be related to Punxsutawney Phil.  One year a bunch of us from a singles group went camping and in the middle of the  night one of the girls woke up because she heard something outside the tent.  When we all went out to investigate there in the tree above the tent was a momma raccoon and 5 babies sitting staring at us.
