My boss went to bat for me and I won't be terminated from my job. I have been put on part-time, on-call basis. I will still lose my benefits at the end of the month, but won't lose my seniority. I will still have to go on COBRA health insurance and pay the full premium myself but that should only last 2 or 3 months. COBRA does pick up where my present insurance left off.
My company is doing everything legal, its just that someone in HR kinda dropped the ball, in my opinion. My boss felt the same way and went all the way to the top for me.
I should still get long term disability. I just filled out the 15 pages of application for that. Sheesh!
Last night at 7:30 we got a call from the doctors office. My doctor was going to have a conference call with Healthcomp's doctor and see if they can get my case pushed through and approved. We might find out today.
My folks arrive this Friday, and my mom will be here to give Dan a hand in my care, and keep me company. She is also a great cook and will have plenty of good stuff around. I still have a very weak stomach, but suddenly a craving for something will hit me and I can eat. Macaroni and Cheese has always been a favorite comfort food of mine and helps the stomach.

Nothing is ever better than MUM. Your boss sounds a lovely person, just knowing you have a job will make you(I hope) feel better. But most of all you have or will have back a life.
