I was making salads for hubby & I then I dropped two fresh spinach leaves on the floor the vacuum cleaner Patches scarfed them right down along with a little bit of lettuce just wondering if that is bad for dogs? does any one know?

I don't see why not. They go out in the yard and eat grass!! So looks like it would be ok as far as i can tell.

Cookie loves lettuce and spinach. I let her eat some veggies when I chop them up for dinner. Its low calorie and she loves it!
I do not let her eat tomatoes, grapes, onions or garlic though. I think all other veggies should be fine!
I would have thought it was ok too but I googled it and came up with this.
Spinach
Can cause crystal formation in the urinary tract and should be avoided completely in pets with urinary problems.
Like anything else though, this is just info off the internet! And doesn't sound like a bit would harm an otherwise healthy dog like Patches.
Well, you told her she needed to lose weight, so she's going for the healthy option here. A salad a day makes the fat go away! :2funny:
My angel girls - Heidi, Gretl, and Siglen - dearly loved lettuce. Heidi would wake out of a sound sleep if I began tearing lettuce leaves for a salad! Brekke likes a raw spinach leaf very occasionally. Heidi even liked sliced cabbage sections with a bit of lemon juice...
How funny! Hallie loves lettuce too...espeically the thicker heart part. I always attributed that to her always being so hungry since I have to half starve the poor girl to keep her girlish figger. But she refuses to touch apples so ?? :dontknow:
