I was in town at a friend's grooming shop just kind of hanging out. A client brought her doxie in to be groomed and we were chatting. I mentioned that I had a foster that might have a home if we could figure out a way to get her to Maryland. It turns out this girl is flying out to visit her mom in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on Monday and would be willing to take Jude that far. She said Indiana PA is close to the Maryland border (zip code is 15701). She thought it would cost $80 to fly her, apparently she has done this before with her own doxie.
Does anyone know would Jude need a health certificate to fly with a person? I know dogs that are shipped via air need one.
Doxieherding Karen also has an option posted in general writings under Doxie Express for Jude?
So, Dianne no pressure, but what do you think??
Janet
I do believe they need a health certificate. Good luck and thanks for taking on this little girl.
That would have Jude within 4 hours of Baltimore. That's a lot closer than Texas!!! Now if Dianne will just get online!
Yes, Jude will need a health certificate, but a) it's easy to get from the vet and b) when I flew Hector out of California, no one ever asked to see the paperwork.
Karen
It needs to be within 10 days of her originating flight. (I wish I had been so lucky with paperwork when Brekke and I left Nikki's in Houston back in 2002 - the counter person for the airline was having a fit over something and I finally told her - "The originating flight was in California - of course she was checked by her own vet there!" Sigh! Good luck on Jude's transport!
