This latest issue has a border collie on the cover and a wonderful article about cognition in animals. It ties in to the Pooch IQ link and the TV watching post. It features a parrot who was part of a study for 31 years.
At the end of the article, after Alex the parrot is scolded for butting in another bird's lesson, he asks (or squawks, rather) to go see the tree visible from the picture window in the lobby. As he enjoys the sight-seeing trip, he says, "Good bird." "Yes," says the researcher, kissing Alex on top of his head, "You're a good bird."
Break out the tissues for me! It is such an endearing moment in their lives!!!
