Title: Could use some good thoughts and rays...
Post by: Sadiesmom on March 09, 2008, 02:26:23 PM
Tomorrow is Spay day for Sadie. Hoping all goes well, and that this will slow her butt down a little bit in the process.

Have to drop her off at 8 am in the morning. How long do they keep them in clinic? Just the day? Over night? I haven't had a dog spayed. Always been neutered.

Im assuming crating for a while. Just to keep her from pulling stitches out.

Rays on the way - I am sure things will go smoothly.  Check with your vet as to whether she will stay overnight - some keep them, some not.  She will most likely recover very quickly.  Let us know as soon as you hear from the vet in the morning !

Rays headed her way! I'm sure she will be just fine. We dropped Penny off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon. She was a little slow for about a day but recovered super quick!

Rays for Sadie, when Patches was done dropped her off in the am & picked her up in the pm. I'm one of those Mom do not like my fur kids to stay over night at the vet I use no one is there overnight with them anyway. It usually up to the vet and yourself if they stay overnight or not. Yes try to keep them at a slower pace for a week or two your vet will give instructions usually pain meds nowdays if you want them.I know they say it is not a factor but I'm not buying it watch the food & exercise seems to me like spayed females gain weight that is near impossible to get off.
Good Luck

More rays again, just a thought I always had them do the nails too while they are out just easier that way but I'm sure you already thought of that if needed.

Yup actually thought I would do that too. Much easier than me trying to chase her down sit on her and hold on to her to get one leg done at a time lol. They are like big slinky dogs.

Belated rays for Sadie!  When Delilah was spayed she was back to her naughty self in a day.  She was pretty good about leaving her incision alone, but she didn't have any external stitches.
