Roberta and the gang
Sorry I didn't post earlier things are in a whirlwind here when it rains it pours! Thanks for the replies on the other post too...it's so nice to have empathetic ears as I know many have gone through this.
Good news on the Hallie front is she is a bit better this morning. Still a bit stiff, etc but no more crying out and is better able to right herself from laying flat. She ran a few steps when I took her potty this morning (we were about 5 feet from the gate and she ran to the gate before I could stop her...I will put her harness on now.). I also just got this email from the vet so this is good as well. (big relief actually). She has had dilute urine for years and we've tested her and I worried myself sick but nothing has changed and her drinking is the same so I try not to worry about that anymore. Thanks again for all the support I feel better that she looks better this morning, last night in bed she did not lay in her usual places which concerned me but right now she is in my arms she wanted me to hold her which she doesn't do when she is hurting.
Dee Dee,
Except for documenting her dilute urine (low specific gravity), the rest of the blood and urine tests were normal. She is not having any problems with the liver, kidneys, thyroid gland, pancreas, electrolytes, anemia, etc.
There is nothing from the lab work that would be causing or complicating her back problems. Hopefully she has responded favorably to the Dexasone injection she received yesterday. If not, or she relapses, let me know.
Continue to keep her quiet, confined, and monitored. Let me know if have any questions following yesterday's visit or this e-mail.
That is wonderful news! I'm so happy that she is feeling a bit better! I'm sure you didn't sleep a wink last night. Both of you get some rest and keep us updated.
Well that sounds positive...thank God. Please let us know how she is doing and know that we are all there with you in spirit. I will of course, continue to pray for Hallie's speedy recovery, and for Hallie's mama as well. Hugs to you both.
Oh no, Hallie... Get better real fast... We will also be praying for you to have a quick recovery... Prayers, rays, hugs & Emmy kisses on the way to you and your momma... :comfort:

Yeah!!!! Glad to see the good news from the vet and you. Continuing rays for Hallie & mom.
Much happier news! Keep resting, Hallie - we all worry when any of you are a little bit not normal!
What news today??????
DD - need an update please -
She is still doing OK but not totally herself. She seems a little stiffer this morning and went right back to sleep after breakfast, but I imagine it's to be expected. It's one of those times where everything is going wrong at once so we are hoping for a better March! I was telling Delia last night that I wonder if obedience is good for any doxie, my Jessie had surgery at age 4 and none of her close relatives (that didn't do obedience) had any problems. And thankfully Sophie has had no problems! So either I let my doxies do too much (even though I was very careful with Jessie, but she did jump 8", with Hallie we've done no jumping) or maybe I walk them too much or something but it seems odd I have had 2 doxies and had problems with both. The doxie I grew up with lived to 17 with no problems (I didn't show him). 2 of Hallie's 3 bouts with back problems were a couple of days after a show or match, her last problem in January was not near a show or match and it was much milder. Maybe coincidence but maybe not. We'll never know for sure but I'll play it safe.
Anyway she is definitely not worse! Thank you guys so much for caring and asking about the little squirt. :)
Oh no! Sorry I missed the earlier post.
Major rays coming to you and Hallie!
Hope she keeps improving.

I wonder if obedience is good for any doxie,
Lozi sez: "Auntie Dee U r silly. Obedience is is not good for doxies. We want what we WANT when WE want it. Silly"
Les her: Glad the little pooper is feeling better. Rest rest rest! going out for you both.
Dee Dee,
I am so sorry to hear about this. I am glad you are there for her though. Good news from the vet too. So hopefully with a couple weeks rest she will be back to her ol'self! Major rays coming from all of us here!
Mel, Mimi, Tuttle, and Carson
I am really worried about her now this is definitely her worst bout so far. She couldn't get comfortable today, can't shake her body and looks miserable when walking slowly when out to potty. The vet called in some pred and tramadol for her, the pred did not help so I just gave her a tramadol on top of it. She is exhausted so sleeping right now but in a wierd upright position. So praying things are better by morning!! :( I talked to the ER and also the vet via email tonight and he said to bring her in in the morning if she's no better.
More HBB rays on the way! I am so sorry to hear that she isn't way better by now. Okay, Miss Hallie - rest up, let our healing rays do their work, and feel better fast!
Dee Dee don't stress she knows to go cool , IF YOU DO CCOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL (a few of us know the panic) do you have metacalm over there, it works wonders, non steroidal for Ms H not you.
Roberta
Oh no!!!! Sigh....DD please give us an update asap this morning...   :comfort: :comfort: :comfort:
I really hope she starts feeling better today. I know this is miserable for you, too. Is there any chance this could be something other than her back? Especially since she isn't have any motor symptoms? I know how easy it is with doxies to automatically look at the back for the source of their pain, but with her not getting any relief, I was just wondering if it could be something else???? Are there any plans for an MRI or xrays? I suddenly have all these questions this morning. Hope when I come home I see better news here! Teresa
DeeDee and Hallie,
Mega rays, prayers and positive thoughts are coming your way for Miss Hallie and you. Keep us posted please. Here is Eastern Washington we have all our hands and paws crossed for you! Dee
I'm so sorry! I know that helpless feeling so well when you aren't quite sure what to do to make them feel better. More rays headed her way! Keep us posted. :comfort:
DD, I'm thinking of you guys. I hope Hallie is on the mend soon.
Thanks, please keep sending prayers I'm really scared she is going downhill even on pred and now 2 doses of tramadol so back to the vet right now will let you know
Called vet he's out of options so we're headed to neurologist in Oregon about 2 hours away
DD I am so sorry to hear about Hallie. I have my fingers and toes crossed that she will recover quickly.
Sending prayers your way!
Jen
On No DeeDee... I was hoping and praying that she felt better today. Hang in there, you are doing everything possible for her and then some. Hallie knows that. Let us know how things go with the neurologist and I'll keep praying that they find and fix whatever it is that is going on with her.
Jeri & I are sending mega-rays and prayers for Hallie (and you). Skeeter once had a scary back type episode after jumping off the bed. It stymied the vet, but she recovered spontaneously after a couple of days of rest. It was apparently what our jock nephews call a "stinger" a minor, albeit painful, soft tissue injury from some jamming kind of force on a joint. I hope thats all it is with our athletic little Hallie. Keep us posted and know you are in our thoughts.
Oh no.... oh no...... please let us know as soon as you get back. Sending mega rays to you both......
I was about to say get to the vet or emerency vet, asap. Rays coming and her hairy alter ego down under sends her a hairy cuddle.
Will tune in later to hear of any news.
Roberta
Continued rays from us here!! Hoping that Kevin has the correct sinerio and soon all WILL be WELL!! Got to be!!! :comfort: :xfinger:

DD, I'm hoping for the very best for her. Conrad is proof positive that doxies can overcome so, so much.
Mega rays on the way from Iowa! I'm sorry for not responding sooner, but I just got the time this week to visit the site.
Praying for a good outcome.
Oh man! You go out of town for a couple of days and things can really change. The last time I was on the board was right after Hallie's dog match.
