I was feeding the horses last night and Neeki was very interested in something going on out in the woods. She wouldn't come over and eat her grain. She stood very erect with ears perked up and listening intently. I went over to her, but could not get her to budge. It was probably a moose. But as I was standing next to her, I noticed how tall she is. Its like she shot up 6 inches in the past few days. I just cleaned the barn last Saturday, and she always has to be in there helping, and I didn't notice how tall she was. When I mentioned it to Dan last night he said 'funny you should mention that' because he thought the same thing yesterday morning when he fed the horses, that Neeki had a sudden upward growth spurt. I will have to get pictures of me next to her. She is so strikingly beautiful. I may be biased, but she is a very flashy Paint. She will turn heads when I ride her through the neighborhood.
How funny - she SMELLED something that you couldn't even see...... Patty - she is one beauty ! Would love to see some new pics !
As you may have heard me mention, Hondo is 50 years old this year. He is almost completely blind in one eye, and is going deaf. However, he is still his snooty old self and has good weight on him, and he still plays. We put a blanket on him when its really cold out. Well, it warmed up and Dan was taking the blanket off yesterday. Neeki actually left her grain to come over and see what Dan was doing to Hondo. Sometimes a young horse will take care of an older horse, and it could be that Neeki has taken it upon herself to be Hondo's caretaker and "seeing eye dog."
Neeki is very very pretty and yes, we should see some new pictures of her!! She is very sweet too for looking after Hondo. I would love to see pictures of them together!!
yes pictures please. My sisters Clydesdale we realised has now got the but the size of a mini, but can creep up on you like stealth, you just turn and he is there, a big gentle giant.

Ms.Neeki could've seen something in the woods that you couldn't see.Fritz&Manny are always seeing something out our big picture window in the back of the house and start barking and when we look to see what it is we can't see anything.
I'd love to see new pictures of her too. She really is striking! How old is she, she should be past growth spurts shouldn't she? Maybe she'll surprise you, seems kids these days always end up taller than their parents. LOL. Have you started her under saddle at all yet? I wonder what was in the woods! It must be awesome to have senses that sharp.
