Hi everyone! I'm new here. I don't own a dachshund, but I'm looking into the breed.....so, I thought this would be a good place to learn all I can to make sure that one would fit into my lifestyle and get along with my other fur babies. I have an 8 year old Golden Retreiver named Buster and a one year old chihuahua named Taco that get along great together (and, of course, they're spoiled rotten). My husband and I would like to add a mini, short haired dachshund because we think that they are just adorable, but we don't really know that much about their temperament and activity level and such. Anyway....I'm sure the more I hang out, the more I'lll learn. Thanks, Deana :hello2:

:thumb: Hi and welcome..I own a mini red smooth named winnie and she is the best thing to happen to my husband and i in a long time..we have owned just abiut every breed as our girls were growing up..i have always wanted a doxie and my daughter had 3 and decided daddy and mommy needed a companion..we have known winnie since she was 8 weeks old.. we adore her and she keeps us laughing..they are a funny breed with real personalities..you are in the right place to learn about this breed..Good luck and keep us posted! :apls:
