Title: SNOW&MORE SNOW!
Post by: Kelly on February 06, 2008, 07:32:24 AM
I don't know about anyone else but Northern Illinois is getting hit with snow once again on top of what we got the last couple of weeks!

Yahooooo.  It's a winter like we used to have when you could go sledding instead of looking at frozen brown grass.  The down side is the 5 times more drivers on MY roads getting in MY way.

Sorry to hear of all the white stuff you are getting.  Here in Tennessee the last 2 days I haven't even had to wear a jacket it has been so warm.  Now we did get some thunder storms last night, but another warm day today.

It is suppose to cool off tonight, may have to turn the heat back on.  Sorry for all that snow  you're getting.  Remember it will get warmer soon.    :xfinger:

It seems like it has been a hard winter to the North and West of us.  It is so tragic about the recent storms that killed over 50 people.  How horrible.  When they came through here it was really very scary!!!  We have had warm temps like Darcel (in the 60's) and it has been really wierd....

Everyone who is getting all that snow and mess (how many inches did they get in Chicago??) please stay inside and snuggle with your puppies!!!  Stay safe and warm!!

(how many inches did they get in Chicago??)

How much often depends on where you are in relation to Lake MI.  I'm 45 miles west of Chicago and yesterday we got maybe 3 inches.  I hear the northern suburbs got considerably more (which is normal).  Kelly lives about 50 miles further west of me.

All total Oswego has gotten about 25 inches in the last 2 weeks, but last weekend we had lots of rain which reduced the ground cover.

Yesterday we dug our way out of 10 inches of snow. It has now snowed on 22 days this winter in Des Moines. ARGH!

There's no "official" measurement in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, yet (perhaps they can't find the ruler?), but we live close by, and measured 14 inches of snow.  Poor Ozzy has only a limited space to "go."  I may have to shovel out a little more space for him.

Well, Darcel, I was in Nashville Tuesday night while the storms hit southwest and northeast of the city!  I'll take snow or earthquakes over tornadoes any time!

We were definitely very lucky, here, in East Tennessee.  There was much destruction and at last count 33 lives lost over in middle and west Tennessee.  It looks like a battle field over there.  The Red Cross is doing all they can, and we are raising money over here in the east.  We need to keep prayers and rays going their way.
