That explains a lot. Solomon had some kind of attack in Dec. where all four of his joints were sore and stiff. He had trouble walking.
He was put on steriods and crate rest. My vet mentioned that it might be Lupus among others, but he mentioned the lupus first. Right now Solly is doing well and I have him on supplements for the hip and joints, and am learning massage from a friend. I think this article does hit on a problem.

Let me state first that I am not a medical professional, so perhaps I am off base here, but recently I heard a compelling arguement that vaccinations could (and I repeat COULD) be linked the rising rate of Autism in the US. As an educator, I have seen first hand the rise in Autistic children in my school. I read this link with great interest. Is there perhaps a similar chemical or compund that is being used in both human and canine/feline vaccines? Perhaps these chemicals act differently in our bodies than in the bodies of our pets, but have long-lasting devastating affects. Again, I'm just thinking. Any doctors out there or vets that can comment?
That's really scary stuff you both are talking about. I think there are still many theories and speculation out there on the effects of vaccinations but no one really knows for sure, although it does appear we do over vaccinate which is most likely at "least" causing some problems. When I got my Hallie we didn't know if she was vaccinated or not since she came from an animal shelter so they vaccinated her and I was always afraid she was double vaccinated. I didn't vaccinate her again for 4 years, now it will be 2 years later this summer and I am planning to wait at least another year to vaccinate again. I have always taken her everywhere with me so she's been exposed to a lot of bugs which does help them build an immunity but it is really hard to know just how much to vaccinate. Vaccinations do good too! Between that and trying to pick the "right" dog food we can drive ourselves batty. :grin:
I'm somewhat relieved to hear you say that. I always assumed I was the only one who wondered quietly if we were "over vacinating".
