Where is your doxie's favorite place to be scratched? It's varied among the dachsies that I've had. Both Zora and Max preferred to be scratched on the backs of their heads. Rudy's favorite place was on his sternum, and Zeke loves to have his shoulders scratched.
Penny loves it on her neck and sternum...it gets her back paw moving :hello2:
Sarge loves the top of his head, his sternum, neck and belly scratched. Duggie is a top of the head, behind the ears guy. And, Looie, was a top of the head and neck, and behind the ears guy.
Alex likes to have his head scratched, and with Willy its the sternum, it gets the back paw going.
Patches more please anywhere is fine with her.

Brandy LOVES scraching on her shoulders and behind her ears......she gets a big smile when scratching !
Both Zoe and Winston love to be scratched on their bellies
Olivers is behind the ears for a few min then flops over to get his tummy done, Amy is a scratch my neck sort of girl, I scratched her back and she trotted of the other end of the room and shook, like "you mussed me up"

I think all dachshunds have a sensitive spot right above their breastbone protrusion. If you scratch them there, they will kick their back leg.
Zora actually is actually more of a scratch the chest type as she readily flops over to expose her belly.

Ozzy loves to be scratched right over the shoulders. He will sit and tilt his head slightly while I'm scratching him. It's about the only time he will sit still!

Ours love to be scratched on the head, behind the ears, on top of the tail, on the belly under the chin, on the neck..... i could go on. They will take a scratching any time any place any where and be happy as long as you are scratching both at the same time.
I forgot the most important scratch spot!!! :doah: I will scratch EmmyLou's hips (sometimes both at once) and she just stretches them little legs out as far as they will go.... She absolutely loves it....

ATTN Mr. Guinness: ZERBERT Definition: When silly dachsie rolls over to expose tummy, the hooman puts his/her mouth on upturned tummy and BLOWS. The sound this makes is similar to that of breaking wind. It feels very pleasurable to many dachsies and causes them to grunt or sigh contentedly. It may even cause the tongue to go in and out of the mouth numerous time involuntarily. Zerberts aka Raspberries are very good things.

I've never been able to get Hallie to kick her back leg although she loves to be scratched. Full body scratches is what she votes for! She likes it on her little chin too.
