This is what happened (and I'm sticking to MY version). My mamma, for some weird reason, decided in the middle of the night that I should go out on the patio. She said something about some snow, and it might not be there for long. I looked out dat door and backed right up. I wasn't going out in any white stuff that was cold, and falling from the sky, much less WALK on it. Mamma just laughed at me and took me back to bed. Well, this morning she goes to start the car 'cause Meghan had to go to work and says "Schatzi, you wanna go out!" I thought that was cool. She opens the front door, and there's all that white stuff on the ground. I just backed up and said "No, thank you. Not unless you are carrying me." That wasn't happening, so I just made Meghan think I was being tortured by crying and carrying on the whole time mamma was outside. Well, then she comes home. She says "Schatzi, you only get to play in snow once a year if you are lucky (I don't call it lucky, I call it stupid) so let's go." She picks me up and takes me out. I tolerated it, especially since I didn't have to have my leash on, but I sure don't see why any other doxies would like that could stuff. It wasn't long before I let mamma know it was time to go in. I am a Southern girlie and we Southern girlies like our ground to be grassy and dry!
Teresa here-It was so fun to see Schatzi back up from the snow. She wasn't having any part of it, especially when it was falling. This morning she was just confused. It would have been a little better if it wasn't crusty on top from the light layer of ice. I went out a second time to take some pictures and she just had to go. It wasn't long before she was right beside me wanting to be picked up. She is now curled up with a warm towel and sleeping.
It would have been great to have had the snow falling during the day when we could watch it falling. The flakes were huge and beautiful. However, we will take what we can get around here. We ended up with around 2-3 inches. My office is closed for the morning, but I think we will probably be going in for the afternoon. When you live in the south, any side roads are a nightmare and very few people know how to drive in this mess. Thank goodness it was more slush than ice. Tomorrow morning, however, the wet roads and freezing temps will be a dfferent story.
Penny here...I'm with you! NO white stuff! Only sun and warm grass for this San Diego girlie!!
Dis is Snickers Eddie's kitty I'm wif u guys, my momma won't take me out in da snow, BUT she took me to da back door to watch my crazy brudder play in dat white stuff AND THEN she made me put my delicate kitty princess paws on the cold window, can you believe that? I'm going back to my heating vent and calm down, OH THE TRAUMA that was inflicted on me.

Here is your sign ..... (http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/snicker.gif) !!!!
Chilie here: I don't like da snow much either. But we get it every winter, so I'm getting used to it. Da last time it snowed here was a couple weeks ago, and we went to visit my granddad. He was so nice, he had a big spot shoveled for me in the grass so I wouldn't have to go potty in da snow. I love my granddad! He spoils me.
Oh, and Schatzi....it's bad enough when it snows, but it's even worse when there's that thin layer of ice on top! Step....crack....fall. Step....crack.....fall.
Haha...I would have loved to see it!! My two hate the snow with a passion...and it's worse when there is ice on top....crunch-plop, crunch-plop, crunch-plop. I have to literally pick them up and put them down outside when there is snow. My Australian Shepherd on the other hand LOVES IT!! I have to call her to come inside.
wez are only likely to see it in pictures, but Mum says it has snowed at nannies and dat is where da other house is, wez promise to be good and perhaps it will never snow there again.
Da gang
Thanks Ruth that's my mom's favorite candy bar.

Schatzi isn't the only one that doesn't like the white stuff! Mine don't like it either! We got some today and it's so coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold in Illinois!
You need a coat my Momma puts a coat on me when I go out and it is snowing or cold suppose to be really cold here all next week.My brother Buddy will be in the house bugging me ggod thing I can go under the couch.Patches

Schatzi gets to repeat the experience tomorrow. They are calling for more snow-and twice in one week is really unusual-so we'll see what she does then. The fun will be taking her out while it is coming down since it will be during the day. It's not supposed to accumulate too much until afternoon because the temps will be a little above freezing until then. Tomorrow night will be in the low 20's or upper teens, so Sunday could be a dangerous day for travel, at least until mid afternoon. At least we should have no ice. That is the rarest thing of all.
Solly here. I no like the white stuff either. To make matters worse, my momma took me to Michigan last month and all they had was that cold white stuff. It fell almost every day we there. I'm a Tennewein not a snow dog. Glad we don't get much of that here.
Whew - cold tootsies !!!! We so seldom get snow - Rudy will not go in it - Brandy just bounds out and snoops around in it.
But if it is just cold outside - Miss Brandy prefers to stay inside !!
Funny kids !
