Post by: papbouv on January 15, 2008, 11:05:10 PM
Guess I found out why I have been so tired I'm a Diabetic oh boy not sure what else I can get going to a Diabetic class tomorrow was not sure if I could afford all the medications thank goodness for insurance was able to get them all. Patches is still sneezing may go up to our old vet and see if I can make payments or something going on day four of sneezing its just too much. Of course hubby does not believe in taking dogs to the vets,or heartworm meds or anything else for dogs.Guess that is why hubby always has monies & I do not.
Thanks for letting me vent

I am sorry to hear about your diabetes.  It is controlable.  My best friend was diagnosed with it two years ago, and so far is doing well.  Hope you feel better soon, and your fur baby, also.

I  take it it is type 2.
A lot of things can be done, to control it, ie weight, exercise and food.
Keep us all in the loop, my father was a type 2 and did not miss out on much so chin up.

Papbouv, my dad was a diabetic for years and years.  Medicine and exercise and diet can and will control it....although he used to cheat on his diet but don't you do that okay??  If you have been feeling bad, I am just glad they found out what it is and it is treatable with medication, etc.  Now you should start to feel much better :apls:

Poor Sneezy Patches....must be a cold or allergies.  Did you stop brushing her teeth with that malt flavored toothpaste??

I was diagnosed with Type 2 in February 2006.  I am controlling it with diet and exercise, and have lost over 20 pounds.  In addition, my problems with high blood pressure have disappeared, and my doctor is extremely happy with my blood sugar readings.

Sorry to hear you have diabetes, but it can be controlled in many ways. Happy to hear your insurance will cover your medications, especially the blood testing strips.  Doctors will give you the blood testing meters, but it's the testing strips that cost money.

Hopefully, you will find out what is causing Patches' sneezies.  Sendying rays and prayers for improved health.

I was diagnosed type 2 in July. I have been taking Metformin, Byetta shots 2 times a day and exercising to lose weight. I had lost 21 lbs as of January 4th. But with Amandas death I have put on a handful of those back on. So anyway... there are ways to keep it under control. Good luck and Im with ya.
