Title: Tummy Upset
Post by: Oscarsmom on January 15, 2008, 11:40:06 AM
Hi all!
I am just wondering if tummy upset is common in Doxies? If so what do you feed your babies?

Penny doesn't seem to have an upset tummy much at all. We feed her a prescription diet though because of her immune system problems. Apparently it is the same food is good for the sensitive stomaches.

Ozzy is showing some signs of having a sensitive stomach.  I currently feed him Eukanuba Adult Low-Residue food.

I have fed my doxies Purina One ever since my first doxie in 1979.  All do great on it.  Occassionally Alex gets the hershey squirts, and I don't think its his food, I think Alex just has a sensitive system.  So everyone gets a couple meals of brown rice, and that fixes them up.

Hi All,
Well we have completely switched Oscar from Science Diet to California Naturals Lamb and Rice formula (what our other dogs eat) and he has had no more upset tummies! Thanks for all your concern.

To help with upset tummys,  you can add a little of pure pumkin to their diet--the 100% pure pumkin,  not the one that is pie ready. It also cuts down on runny poo's. I give mine a spoon full with their kibble and I also give them a teaspoon of plain yogurt all good for digestion.
