Title: New Pet Food
Post by: Marcia from MI on December 19, 2007, 10:38:03 AM
Dis is Eddie.  Momma went shoppin this morning and brought home samples of some new pet food.  It's called Taste of the Wild and has no corn or any udder grain in it.  But it does have Quail, Pheasant, Bison, Salmon and other good protein.  Plus it has fruit, veggies and some stuff I can't memember right now.  I gots to taste a little from the sample bag wif the Salmon and it was great.  Momma says if I like it a lot we will try it, as long as she doesn't make me go vegan I'm up for it.

So here's da website:  www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com (http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com)

This food sounds good. The calorie content isn't bad and the ingredients are good. I just switched mine to Wellness a few months ago (from Eagle Pack) because I liked the fact that I could change flavors and stay with the same brand. If I hadn't JUST changed, I would definitely try this because it has the different flavors also. Is the size of the kibble small? It's so hard to figure out what to feed them!

Kibble size is a big point as Amy has a small mouth,( not that you know as she quite opinionated) and gives up with some as its to much energy to get through dinner. The guys would jump at salmon but we as yet don't get much of a choice here.

Interesting..... I am mulling over changing from Solid Gold - just because it is getting harder and harder to get the canned food (which Brandy eats).  I don't have trouble with Rudy's kibble......  Thanks for the link - I will check it out !

Wow, Barb - Brenda and I thought it was just we who were having trouble getting the Solid Gold wet!  We had to get our supplier to order our wet for the third time, and ended up with the little cans, instead of the tall ones we like!   We have also been using Merrick's wet, because we love the big variety in canned from them!  This does sound like an interesting dry food, though!

Just saw your note - LOL - I ordered from the Solid Gold web site and all THEY had were the small cans.  A realy pain opening one every other day !!!!  I have several places around there that carry it and no one has the larger cans.  If figure I had better make a switch while I have some to mix in with the new !!!

Woohoo, Marcia!  Has any other Solid Gold wet user noticed that the red and purple labels stay softer when refrigerated, than the green?    We do love the Merrick's - and we think/know Merion does, too!  Brenda and I have noticed no problems switching the wet back and forth from S.G. to Merrick's, but we only use about a tablespoon with kibble - just enough to mix up the Solid Gold Sea Meal...
